Stealth tank while moving out draft picks desperately trying to plug holes? Most teams go the other way and tank by moving players out for draft picks creating holes for a low finish.

Rathbone= a lot of upside

If people are ok with this team tanking and starting new with young players... then Rathbone fits the plans even if the end game is to trade him after he develops in the NHL.

What they are going to do instead is ruin him and find him a new team when he and his agent have had enough.

There are only two young players worth anything under the age of 25, Pettersson and Hughes, four if you count Podkolzin and Hoglander but they’re worthless and seemingly nice kids.

If there’s not enough leadership in the room to deal with two immature kids then the kids aren’t really the issue.

But they also aren’t part of the solution. And pouty is leaving anyways. Draft kids with character. We could get a good haul of picks for the buttery soft nucleus of this team.

Even then we are probably still doomed. This team has one of the worst collections of scouts in the league. I change my mind. Maybe we should go for age gap filler

I believe Pettersson is a good young center, one of the better 23 year olds in the league. He’s extremely valuable to both the Canucks and to another team.

I don’t care at this point who stays or who goes, but changes need to happen, full scale changes.
