Stealth Tank - VANTEL
Stealth tank while moving out draft picks desperately trying to plug holes? Most teams go the other way and tank by moving players out for draft picks creating holes for a low finish. |

When you lose 8 of 10, I am not sure it matters who they play. Bring in the Zamboni guy for Christ sakes

May be, finish dead last and draft 4th OA after the lottery. |

I think you are misunderstanding me. I wasn't suggesting how to win the next game with roster moves. Developing young players and increasing value of assets is what I'm talking about. - boonerbuck
I got it and agreed. I was adding on that Canucks should not be firm about playing Stillman and Bear. I like Briesebois and Burroughs more.
Rubey had a funny quote last night. Bear is now Canucks best Dman.

Like I just said, they are trading away picks to plug holes in the roster. This clearly is not their intent....

He's played one game since sometime last season before he got covid. Funny but nowhere near the truth.

When does that new rule come in that they can't drop more than two spots? I thought it was this year but like I said I haven't been really following much so not sure.

Maybe Tankathon needs to update their site?
So it's finish last OA, draft 3rd.

Beagle= no upside
Boeser= no upside
Rathbone= a lot of upside
If people are ok with this team tanking and starting new with young players... then Rathbone fits the plans even if the end game is to trade him after he develops in the NHL.
What they are going to do instead is ruin him and find him a new team when he and his agent have had enough. - boonerbuck
I want all the young players gone. They are a huge part of what’s wrong with the Locker room. Find some decent amateur scouts and start over |

Then play Rathbone and trade him down the road after increasing his value. Perhaps the TDL. Better plan than trading draft picks for scrap defensemen to plug holes so this team can make the playoffs. By doing this you also screw up player development...
They just traded a 19 year old Dman who has possible NHL upside for scraps... this management looks playoff desperate when they make these moves for fringe players over and over... |

Might be able to get some veteran leadership from ARI?

No sh!t dude. They are chasing the playoffs so they won’t be prioritizing developing our trash prospects. |

Don is dreaming if he thinks this ownership/management are going to blow up this core. They'll go through another couple of coaches before they do that. |

We are locked in until Pouty leaves town. And he definitely will. 3 years until a retool |

There are only two young players worth anything under the age of 25, Pettersson and Hughes, four if you count Podkolzin and Hoglander but they’re worthless and seemingly nice kids.
If there’s not enough leadership in the room to deal with two immature kids then the kids aren’t really the issue. |

...and he'll keep blaming the players that management thinks deserve a chance to show they can do it.(like they've stated at last TDL and the offseason) |

But they also aren’t part of the solution. And pouty is leaving anyways. Draft kids with character. We could get a good haul of picks for the buttery soft nucleus of this team.
Even then we are probably still doomed. This team has one of the worst collections of scouts in the league. I change my mind. Maybe we should go for age gap filler |

I believe Pettersson is a good young center, one of the better 23 year olds in the league. He’s extremely valuable to both the Canucks and to another team.
I don’t care at this point who stays or who goes, but changes need to happen, full scale changes. |
