Lefty lack of knowledge with anything to do with hockey, is amazing. - Reubenkincade
I think the same of you, you’re so clueless yet you actually think you’re more knowledgeable than people who’ve been in the pro game for 30 years |

If Boeser is worth nearly 7 mil and Miller is worth 8 mil, Bo should be getting 10+ mil easy considering all that he does as the all-around best forward on the team (better than Petey since he sucks at faceoffs and Bo doesn't) - DariusKnight
I think Petey is a better all round player than Bo to be honest. He has a significant edge on creativity, playmaking and defensive play. Faceoffs don't trump that.

You’re right, it’s 4.75 million, I thought it was 4.25 million, regardless, not really my job to know exact numbers but it’s not a terrible contract.
As for Horvat, it has nothing to do with what he’s worth, it has everything to do with where the franchise currently is. He’s not worth 7.5 million, which is his reported ask, at least not to the Canucks. Just like Miller isn’t worth 8 million because they should’ve traded him.
At the end of the day Mikhayev’s contract is very average in the NHL for what he earns. Which is separate from anything else you wanna bring into it. It’s a decent contract. - Pacificgem
So, the franchise isn't in the right spot, so they should sign 3rd line guys like Mikheyev, who the team had to trade away Di ckinson and a 2nd, in order to be cap compliant.
Yet Bo, according to you, isn't worth 7.5 million.
Ok. |

You’re so clueless, it’s not as black and white as you make it out to be. Your views are simplistic. The team had a strong finish their last 40 games, they’re trying to build on what happened the second half of last year. Di ckinson wasn’t working here, so make changes. You’re trying to encompass everything all in one fix, it doesn’t work like that, it never has, it’s a process.
Bo has nothing to do with Mikhayev’s contract. |

I think all three things can be true. They shouldn’t have signed Mikheyev, that was stupid. They shouldn’t have traded a 2nd to get rid of Richardinson, that was stupid, but they also shouldn’t sign Horvat to a big deal based on everything else they have going on right now. That will just mean cap gymnastics to continue being mediocre.
Unless… they move Myers at the deadline, OEL goes on LTIR, along with Poolman and Boeser retires. |

I understand that, obviously this organization does as well. Stay at or above the cap floor for a decade and just keep repeating the same mistakes, over and over and over again

I am not even arguing that the Canucks will or should be signing Bo, I just find it funny and hypocritical, how Lefty can argue that was a good UFA signing, because of the organizational place it is in, yet 11 games later, the organization isn't in a good place, so they shouldn't re-sign one of the teams top 2 players |

Again, you have no idea, players are assets, even if you don’t want to pay them you have to pay them what the market says they’re worth because you’re only allowed to have so many contracts and you can’t just let players walk for nothing because you don’t like what the market says they’re worth.
Boeser, for instance, has four 20+ goal seasons in five years in the league. He got paid what the market says he’s worth, like it or not. Horvat will get paid way more because he’s a much better player and someone will give it to him. Good for him. He deserves it. As a Canucks fan I want him traded because the mix of players isn’t right, they’ve proven the group doesn’t work well together. |

Yes well Lefty being a moron isn’t a big surprise is it?
Bo is certainly worth the contract he will sign, it just shouldn’t be with the Canucks unless all kinds of action takes place.
Canucks could afford to build a decent team with Bo, Millsey and Petey long term, though it would probably be another five six years to come together. |

A prime example of your simplistic views, how was the organization supposed to know they’d start like this? Is that Mikhayev’s fault now lol. They shouldn’t be signing Horvat because they’ve been unable to win a God damned thing with him in the lineup despite his great play. He’s a valuable asset that can precipitate change within the organization.
You’re basically saying they should just keep signing the same core players despite winning sweet fukc all in almost a decade. It has nothing to do with what Horvat’s worth, it has everything to do with the need for change. |

Rugby’s trying to blame the surrounding pieces around Horvat and Miller when the fact of the matter is the core and the surrounding players are the issue….it’s not one or the other. Mikhayev’s contract has absolutely nothing to do with the current state of affairs in Vancouver. He’s actually provided good value in the short window we’ve been able to observe his play.
Truthfully, I have no idea what his beef is. One minute it’s Mikhayev’s contract, next minute it’s Horvat’s contract, then it’s something else and something else…he’s all over the map just making up poop as he goes along pretending to know what he’s talking about… |

It’s never been built with purpose, they’ve never had a plan through multiple management teams, this one included. Although, they haven’t been in place for very long, still, they all say they have a plan and then keep churning out the same crap. |

I am not arguing that the Canucks should be signing him, I was saying that he is worth over 7 million.
BTW, I have been the one saying for a couple seasons, that this is a bad mix of players, and I am fine if they tear it all down.
You on the other hand, has only just discovered that it is a bad mix and I am the clueless one? |

Yup.
I scream for defensemen every draft and get laughed at by many, as they want skill only. That is part of how this team has ended up in this situation. |
