Just saw the Podkolzin fight, yikes, that boy can’t fight or play hockey very well. Poor kid
Matthew Boldy 15GP 6G 5A 11Pts +3……Benning truly was on Mike Milbury’s GM level. Quite possibly bottom three in NHL history. - Pacificgem
I had Boldy in the same tier but ahead of Podz in my draft order but power forwards take time and his next contract will be cheaper than Boldy's and Dean Evason>Bruce Boudreau
Boldy would also keep the Canucks from getting a higher draft pick and possibly some better defenders.

Everyone talking about Connor Bedard for good reason but this is Leo Carlsson and i think he will be the second overall pick this year. A young Mats Sundin
5 Canucks Thoughts
@5Canuckss
I think this kid ends up being better than bedard , FYI. #Canucks
Please start tanking Vancouver. A top 8 pick in this draft would go a long ways to a new future. Another top 25 pick would also go a long ways. |

Bruins 5, Canucks 2: Dismal decade carries on for Vancouver
Two teams, two strategies to building your team. You know which one has been more successful
Patrick Johnston...
Since the 2011 Stanley Cup Final, no team has won more NHL regular season games than the Boston Bruins.
They have won 499 games in that span, tied with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Vancouver Canucks have won just 391 games, 24th in the NHL.
In so many ways, that helps understand the shellacking the Canucks took Sunday in Boston, losing 5-2 to the Bruins at TD Garden.
It was the Canucks’ third loss in a row. The Bruins have won all nine of their home games so far this season.
The Canucks remain a team without any real shape, a team that can’t defend, that have a handful of highly-skilled forwards and a top-notch defenceman, but just not enough actual cohesion to be a consistent force in the NHL.
As ever, there’s too much hope in their planning. ‘Maybe this will work’ has been the going motto year-in, year-out for nearly a decade.
And hope is simply not a plan.

As difficult as it would be, as a lifelong fan, I think it’s time to tune the organization out. Marijuana is legal in Arizona, it seems to work for most of you, I might just check it out. - Pacificgem

Dec 9th will be one full year under the new regime.
Rutherford will be asked some tough questions. |

He should be asked, will you be adding anymore 5 million dollar 3rd liners and 7th defensemen, before you complete the lengthy assessment of this team? |

Will you have to add a pick to unload Miller's horrendous contract? |

Miller will have value. GM's will always pay for a PPG player. |

J.T. Miller had been on the ice for 25 goals against going into Sunday’s game.

- VanHockeyGuy
Expectations have changed as well. They were 2nd and 3rd overall picks, even back then they got a lot of flack for being "busts" but I think in today's market (especially Vancouver) they would be absolutely roasted. Look at this board talk about Pod and Hughes... they're still kids.
But, that being said, I don't think the times have changed that much. Lots of slackers back in the Sedins days, lots of hyper trained people today. |

It is now up to 27, which is 41% goals against, when Miller is on the ice.
Hope some GM will pay for that. |

36-24-13 .582, 95 pt pace. It’s about to get worse over the next 9 games though (9 more and it will be 82 coached) |
