Not sure you reading comprehension is up to par, I said he doesn't usually have anyone to pass to. He has played what 3 or 4 games with Miller? |

I'd look at the buyout then, next group of core players cant have a slow lazy expensive vet on the roster and in the locker room if you want to build a contending team from the ground up - Nucker101
You've gotta think of where that group is playing, most will be AHL or Juniors or other leagues next season. Is it worth buying OEL out and not replacing him? or replacing with someone in FA and ultimately spending more to do so?
We buy him out next year and this is when it looks like for us
$146,667
$2,346,667
$4,766,667
$2,833,333
$2,126,667
$2,126,667
$2,126,667
$2,126,667
The year after looks like this:
$2,028,889
$4,448,889
$4,448,889
$1,808,889
$1,808,889
$1,808,889
There is a big difference IMO between the two years for buyout and buying out in 2024 is better short and long term for the club.

I agree with your principle, but why not wait until you have some replacements for him?
It is not like this team can be rebuilt in 2 or 3 years. |

Tough break for Canada, they looked the better team for most of the game... just lacking so much finish and quality around the box. Was fun to watch, hopefully they can beat Croatia and make a challenge to move on - NewYorkNuck
That's why unproven 20 year old kid cost teams 50M euro's to buy. |

I don't agree with most of it. First of all, if ownership says no to a rebuild all of this hopeful posting is just a pass of time.
If Ownership did say yes, you would be getting an NHL ready top 3 pick plus a few other first round picks that could fill your prospect pool.
Despite what people here say trading of Bo Demko Hughes Miller or any of the big names will get you more picks players and prospects.
OEL should be bought out next year and replaced with an Entry Level player that was traded for or already in the system like Briesbois. Who cares if they pay an extra year of 2 mil cap eight years from now when the cap should be 100 mil.
Will this all be fixed in one year? Hell no,but cut away the heavy fat on the first swipe. It takes some workers 8 hours to do a day's work, but the good ones can do it in a lot less time. Same goes for good managers.

Ya, I understood what you were trying to say, I am not Lefty.
You think Matvei Michkov is NHL ready? Even if he was, he has 3 more season under contract in the KHL.
Also, sometimes we think some of these kids are ready to jump right 8n and be good enough to play in the NHL, yet they struggle to perform, like Podkolzin, or they struggle to stay in the lineup of the AHL team, like Klimovich. |

how do I truly feel?
I'm done with this core, I want a hard reset and what I suggested is the way to achieve that. - Nucker101
You sit Petey, Bo, Hughes and Demko down in a private meeting and make them sign a non-disclosure agreement so they can't speak publicly. Then you tell them we are tearing it down to the fabric for a 2-4 year solid rebuild. Maybe a solid 5 years. Ask them if they want to be a part of it and if so great if not move on and start from player 1. |

I think Stutzle had a slow start on his second year also. Let's face it not much is going right with this team. Despite his slow start I still like Podz. I said before he started playing, he would score 8 goals his first year about 20 to 25 points. Good passer, surprising release, very good on the forecheck and would beat out Jake and Loui for second line spot. I also said if he is third line that is good for Canucks because that would mean we got better forwards from somewhere.
I don't know if I was Canucks if I would sign another Russian committed for three years. |
