It all adds up overage carryovers/bonuses etc all need to be looked at. This estimated cap-increase may happen, but it may not.
Also, a few have suggested buying out OEL, that cost and his replacement cost need to be considered.
This team is just in a bad spot capwise, I think it will be very restrictive, until they can somehow pull a miraculous dump of salary.

I think there's a difference between worrying that the team will be cap compliant(they literally have no choice) and worrying that they spend their money wisely.


This team has PPG Kuzmenko at 950K
This team has Rocket Richard Horvat at 5.5M
This team has Pettersson playing like a true star at center at 7.35M
This team has PPG Miller at 5.25M(this year)


Yet they're still not a good team, that should tell all you need to know about how the cap money is being spent.

I think Emilie is more than capable of making sure they are cap compliant.
I just don't believe a bottom feeder should be hanging out at the top of the cap leaderboard, unless they have taken on a contract or 2 and been paid nicely for it.

I guess all I can say is let me know when they are traded.

So are you faulting or complimenting the team on having these great contracts? I am confused. Horvat will probably get a three mil raise (deserved) and when Petey's contract comes up he will probably get a 2 mil raise. I don't see an issue.

Contracts come off the books and some players get raises, happens with all teams. The two contracts that are really hurting them are OEL and Myers and one will be playing his last year next season (maybe both lol).

So when do you think this will happen?

I am going to be blunt, but Francesco doesn't give a rat's ass about what you or I think or anyone else on here. He has a team that scores a lot of goals and puts fans in the seats. This is a group of 20 people here with opinions mostly against what is going on, but I am sure he is sitting in his owner box counting how many of his 19 000 fans who have hot dogs and beers.

Anyone here can hope for all the changes they want but the general public right now is pretty excited to see the team play live. They will figure out a way to sign them.

Not saying that at all. I think it is fine to voice our opinions, comments, and frustrations. I am just saying they don't do one iota of good. This is therapy for most or a chance to talk hockey, but nothing that we say here will change one decision as far as Canucks go.
