Had the opportunity to watch some parts of Seattle games, I like the way they play. If they didn't have such ugly uniforms, I might be able to cheer for them.

The question then hypothetically becomes... is he more valuable at this TDL with some small retention, or keep him and play him for another year, and trade him as a pure rental at next TDL?

Depending on what team is trading for him. A team that is shallow on the right side but in contention this year and next might rather a deadline deal this year. Like Washington who also don't have really any defenders signed next year and Ovi wanting to not rebuild.

I don't think there would be too many suitors for him honestly. Looking at who's near or in a playoff spot, I can't see many teams wanting to trade for him. Possibly Edmonton if they lose out on someone else.

At next years trade deadline, I think you would have a lot more suitors him being a rental or in the off season.

I enjoyed watching a team that was good on the forecheck, good on the backcheck and finished checks, that resulted in turnovers as a result of the pressure being applied.

I believe they need to move out players whenever they can, for whatever they can get in return. If that means this season or next, they need to do it.
No point in delaying the process.
