That was actually a pretty good hockey game. Flyers lose but the game was entertaining….win-win!

The team is allowed to retain on 3 salaries, I would expect they will be having to retain on some of those contracts.
- Reubenkincade

True... I wouldn't bother retaining on them, just wait it out unless it was on a UFA like Bo.

I think the list of Canucks non-ELC contracts that teams would be willing to take for nothing is a pretty damn short one

I need two wines to give to my mother in law for Christmas. Both around $20 that I can get at the local MLC. Go!
- manvanfan

Your liquor commission had a terrible website (and selection).

for a red try this, always over delivers. if they dont have this specific wine pick a different producer from the same region - Jumilla.

Juan Gil Jumilla Silver Label $24.99
Item # 3517 | UPC 8437005068070 | 750 ml

for a white, go to the French section and look for a wine from Alsace, Pinot Gris or better yet, Gewurztraminer. these wines gongreat with all kinds of traditional christmas foods. common producers include Hugel, Pierre Spaar, Pfaffenheim etc. the bottles are all going to be tall and skinny so they are easy to identify.

if they don't have any Alsace wines there's a Spanish wine from Torres called Vina Esmarelda that's a close approximation.

good luck

I'd be willing to retain if it's on an expiring in 2023 or 2024, but that's about it

Aren't 20-dollar wines an equivalent to Safeway roses?

Inflation. With tax you need to spend $25 now. You can get 4 good bottles for $100 if you know what you’re doing.

Here is what 30 bucks gets you at the liquor store.

I’m a cheap mother(frank)er, and am always on the lookout for a good 3liter bag in box. Usually white or rose in the summer for cocktails or a spritzer or something. It’s just getting harder and harder to get good quality poop for under $20. I’m sure it’s the same with everything else. Used to be able to get a six pack of beer for about $1/beer, now they’re $6 each (hyperbole).

Cauliflower, cheddar cheese, you name it, (frank)ing expensive.

I wouldn’t bring plonk to dinner because I’d have to drink it too, but my choices definitely depends on who it is and what they might be sharing as well.

We exchanged some wine last year with the daughter's in-laws and we bought them a Chateauneuf de pap and they gave us a yellow tail 10-dollar bottle. This year they are getting Tim Hortons gift card for 10 bucks.

Thanks appreciate it. Most of the time a $24 is the most expensive bottle in the MLC store. Honestly, I drew the mother in law in the christmas draw. I got her terracotta spikes for the garden. They use wine bottles 😀. Spending $150 on mother in law has been difficult.

Any recommendations on the 3 lt boxes? We too like a decent glass for cheap.
Right now Mrs. Marwood is enjoying Lab from Portugal.

Nothing recently, sadly. Really enjoyed wine in Portugal in the fall. A country that is under represented on the shelves in BC, great value.

Comet or Virus?

This way I can invest my money in Bomb shelters or Kleenex.

We've enjoyed the one's that we've tried so far and yes, the selection is very limited.
