Good article on the Athletic about how Bear is the best D man at retrieving dump ins. They had this graph, which shows he's leading the pack at getting the puck passed.... but also how freaking terrible Tyler Myers is didn't someone argue once he was a good defenseman?

When Bear is the first defenceman to have a play on the puck following an opposition dump-in, the opponent will recover the puck 47 percent of the time, leading the Canucks.

Moreover, when Bear also completes 63 percent of his passes on first touch, also leading Canucks defencemen:

Bear seems like a solid pickup. OEL with better numbers than I would've guessed. Myers lines up with the eye test, he looks lost out there. Burroughs looks high-risk, you can see why Bruce is less high on him than us fans are, but I still like the fire he plays with.

Bear definitely improved after his first few. Last game not a good sample but he was steadily improving each game.

Burroughs occasionally has a poor game. Stillman always has a poor game. Burroughs brings the physicality as well so it's not like they are trading anything off when they go with KB.
