You gotta give to get, by a lot on here's metrics, a player like, oh say, Tage Thompson who averaged 12 points a season his first 5 pro seasons, would never get a chance here, would be labeled a bust and run out of town

Thompson is a freak. The guy is 6'6. Good luck stopping him.

For every TT story there is also as many Nail Yakapov stories. Lafreniere has always been overrated because he dominated in Jr. He is just another 15-goal scoring smuck in the NHL. Nothing to see here.

Thompson just turned 25 in oct. Laff 21 in oct. By getting rid of BB contract it frees up cap space, Laff can kill penalties, he will be cheap for the next few years, and he has skill, paired on a line with EP he might just thrive, Naslund like reclamation project ..

Come on man, the kids 6'1" and 200+ lbs, he's not a shrimp like Garland, and in 4 yrs he might be a 100 point winger.
I'm no Laff expert, but I doubt anyone here is either, my proposal was just that, but major change might mean losing a trade or two, but betting on skill might just win us that trade.
