Kuz is great, it's refreshing to see someone on the team perform so well and have a blast doing it. Not sure how well that sits in the room though?

I really hope we can re-sign him befoe TDL. But his play is kinda worth 2 1sts+ currently. On pace for 37g (probably settles closer to the 30 mark) and 75 pts on an ELC will have him as one of the most sought after players at TDL. No other player has had his production and price point in league history that I could find (maybe someone else can think of other UFA's available).

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Those who said the Canucks should’ve signed Horvat before Miller have been vindicated this season. It’s looking more and more like management made a mistake, though it’s easy to judge in hindsight.

Imagine if they signed Horvat and he poop the bed.

But I'd still look to trade him, he turns 27 next month. I think this team needs a 2-3 year period where they load up on future assets so he'd be around 30 when it's time to even start trending upward again.

With his low salary cap hit he is worth more than Bo right now.

I think signing him is a good idea. Makes signing EP long term easier IMO. Lets him know that we are willing to sign players long term that have chemistry with him. Usually also a good indicator that we plan to compete sooner rather than later. Which I think we can do if we aim for a 2-3 year reset on young assets.

What about the day when Horvat gets traded for Newhook and Girard?

Canucks can easily retain on Bo and Bo is a faceoff beast center and one of the NHL's best goal scorers over his last 82 games so I doubt it.


Both should be pretty sought after though along with Schenn. You could get a great haul of future assets if you move all 3 but I'm not holding my breath on that.

More later maybe, it seems I have to go clean the house since I'm about to have a dozen plus people stay the night. Sister in law has decided she's coming to town and is inviting everyone she knows to come hang out at my house.

My wife's 30th bday today and we made plans, invited who she wanted and such but now her sister aka the center of the universe has now decided we are going to do what she wants but is going to surprise it on her sister.

A roster redesign is needed however it’s gone about.
