Well maybe there is a GM out there stupid enough to believe that OEL is still a viable defender, at $7.+m against the cap for this season and four more, with almost $30m in real cash still owed (not including the remainder of this year)

Technically there were 2. Benning and the rumours of Boston being after OEL as well but he declined to go to Boston thanks to his NTC.

I doubt a GM would take OEL at 7m. Maybe 5.5. (frank) Ristolinan just got a contract at 5.2. Can't believe a GM gave him that.

7 for Klingberg. Dallas was offering him that long term.

I am not the type of give up person but trying to figure out contracts these days boggles my mind.

Anyways, QQ brought something up earlier, which kinda went unnoticed, he mentioned about the blogs here on this site and how it was questionable about surviving(paraphrasing) . I have been following several of the bloggers, over the last while and also believe the day's are numbered here.
One of the more read blogs being the Buffalo blog, yet no new blog in several days, with about 2000 comments.
One guy doing at least 5 teams, with very few comments on it.
Might be time to start looking around at different sites, if you want to continue some hockey talk.

Losing Carol is a big blow to the future of hockeybuzz. I don't have the numbers but I suspect Canucks readership (which is what really matters) improved during a tumultuous period.

She was unquestionably one of if not the best writers on HB.

Attracting readers who in turn click on other blogs IS the game.


Nobody suffers worse than us as it's a direct loss. No offence to the previous writers but Carol was a real gem.

I agree 100% without a doubt she was the best but the truth is this group shrunk over the years that she was here. Not her doing at all. I just recently went through dozens of her blogs from her early days. The names that are no longer here jump out at you one after another. It's remarkable. New names are not as abundant and for the most part don't post as much.

Tough to ask Martin to have to carry the load with that team in front of him. Should probably trade for a decent veteran to keep the playoff hopes alive. Maybe this years first for Jake Allen?
