He scored goals, who cares where he was living. Florida didn’t want to pay him with their 2500 fan base. Didn’t cost anything for the Canucks to acquire him. Two million in cap space.

If you are using that line of thinking then trading Jared McCann and a first for Gudbrandson 23-year-old six foot four, drafted third overall who came off a good year in Fla was a good trade. Too bad it didn't work out.

Yeah they sucked. Though they’re not of the same pedigree of Burr and Manny. Plus they were brought in to win now. My suggestion is on a rebuild team. Wouldn’t a vet hard ass coach be all about the wins not the ways? IDK it’s just a thought on changing conditions. Would need a full team change from players to mandate.

Except the Canucks just had a 117 point season and went to the Stanley Cup finals when they traded two old players for a scoring young winger, whereas they just finished third last in the league when the traded for Gudbranson and gave up 19 year old first round pick as well as the 33rd overall pick…..seems pretty nonsensical to me.
