Something else I realized from the Ethan Bear/Gino Odjick goal, was that the primary assist went to our most skilled Russian. Seems fitting.

Flames are going to be mediocre for a long time, you guys are basically a more structured and better version of the Canucks but both teams are stuck in no-man’s land

They still have time, it's not like their an old team(Burns is old, Patches is just a rental). But I agree that eventually they'll have to go all-in for a couple of seasons.

I agree Also, the Flames can’t really blow it up either, given the contracts they gave to Marky and Huberdeau. Their only way to get out of mediocrity, is to sell high like Chicago did on young players like Debrincat and Dach.

Marky not so much, 3 more years. Huberdeau, Kadri and Weegar’s are all longer than anyone would want. I think., the biggest difference is the Flames have a little deeper prospect pool.

Playoffs isn’t enough for most Canucks fans. The famous 1 & done. It’s either a cup run or tank. No middle ground & they’d always find something to bltch about either way.

1/2 the NHL misses the playoffs. But I do agree, it should be more than just making the playoffs Although being on the other 50% side is still better. Chances of winning the whole thing is tough, one of the hardest championships to win. I’m still better watching my team in the playoffs rather than not.
I just got home from happy hour at the beach where I over indulged, so sorry if my punctuation isn’t up to my standards.
