I agreed with you on Wood, but definitely not with Pellika, who should be a 2nd rounder, at best.
- Reubenkincade

Wood is a real curiosity & my dark horse to be a surprise pick for some team. Probably on my list in a trade down scenario. Other than my Reinbacher at 10oa & he could fall lower into a more reasonable range Wood & Barlow could very well be steals the lower they go.

Alex Weiermaier C is my 3rd round target. I’ll track him more as time goes by.

Yes, I know what type of players you like, the ones that always end up being on shItty teams, because they can't elevate their game.
- Reubenkincade

I like stud RHD they just never come around for us. I pick a true C always til there is that D. I go for ceiling 1st unless later in the draft then lean more towards the floor. Wingers only enter my picture if play drivers nothing else. Eg Sale maybe if we pick 8-10th. Michkov is very intriguing & even more without Russia in the WJC’s but just not a fit for what we need fixing.

I'm pretty divided on this myself. I've enjoyed watching him play, he plays with passion. Loves to score. I wish he would put that same commitment into defence a bit more often. He's 58th among NHL forwards in scoring.

You don't win without scoring in the NHL. The Canucks have it in abundance on the wings.

Not a problem if you can get rid of someone else and get him on a decent contract that isn't too much because teams shouldn't be paying what they used to for scoring.

I like the comparable someone made about Burakowsky 5x5.5M. Seattle no tax state helps that a lot.

He's good secondary scoring. Which is not 7M plus IMO. Van has tax 5x6.5M

But as Drance/others points out, you have a whole bunch of money tied up into wingers (not a winning forward position, plus the Canucks have a lot of them) that aren't going to move the team forward since, ya know, they're already here and the team sucks.

Sure, you can get rid of other wingers for pennies (at best), but then you sign another one to a contract and what have you really done? Just moved money from one winger to the next without truly improving the team.

The Canucks have very few trade chips to reimagine the team, and unfortunately Kuz is one of them. He could net a great haul which would help the team in the long run. And that's all we've been complaining about, no? We want some long term vision. Signing Kuz isn't long term thinking. And that's coming from someone who likes him and would want him to stick around – the Canucks just aren't in a good enough position (both with their roster, prospects, and league standing) to afford themselves the opportunity to pass up trading him.

So you wanna pay the 8 million dollars to Horvat for the same product? That's not how you build a winning team. Major changes are badly needed. Not only does the team need a culture shift, it needs to get away from the same core product that continually loses year after year after year. Is that the fault of one player, no, but you've gotta start disassembling somewhere.
- DraftandDestroy

Good stuff 👍

It’s not Bo’s fault but trading him gets this ship going in a new direction & a new C when the right time. Somewhere is now & if he’s the 1st big domino so be it.

Not my go to rankings link lol

Maybe that’s realistic but not much risk in the 3rd & could rise but not tunnel vision on him yet. Still boning up after the 1st round on prospects & letting sample sizing to come in.

Moving either or both of Boeser & Garland can be a more cap oriented move. Not given away but to realign cap allotment to fit in Kuz who is better than either of them. That is what I hope for but it all begins with what Bo fetches.

Cool, then what? You move out Boeser and/or Garland for very little, sign Kuz, and the team still sucks and you don't have cap space or any good returns. Kuz is already on the team and it sucks! Add in losing Bo, and now what? Bo's not going to bring in someone better than him, soo....

Not that they will, but now's the time to hit the larger reset button.

Might be of interest…

https://www.prohockeyrumo...atest-on-bo-horvat-4.html

Being sellers I don’t see a quick trigger let the market come to us. As the article eludes to Bo can fit into many teams for a few reasons. I reiterate many other teams should look into getting him for the future even if not a PO team or bubble team.

Well bro you alone were on the Island for a teardown after 2011.

Nobody really backed you up. I would’ve but couldn’t see a way clear of MG’s NTC mess.

The greatest ever Bloated, the greatest.

A friendly reminder that in 1992/93 Mario Lemieux finished the season with 160pts in only 60 games, including 69 goals. He was also diagnosed with cancer & missed 2 months of the season & returned in March & went off with 46pts in his final 15 games. Let that sink in for a sec.

Nah you were the loudest lol

My turn is now for the 1st time I want major changes. The hate for Myers tops my list but I have to wait on that damn. Bo is 95% a goner. Boeser &/or Garland pls.

I want lots & lots of dust then see what settles. I need a fresh start for next season starting with a system that revolves around team D then kill ‘em on transition & the PP.

Lastly FIX THAT HORRIFIC PK

Losing Boeser & Garland is 11.6m cap. That is a gain unto itself & on how it gets reallocated. What the returns are will be most likely picks or if cap dumps then fetches more. Depends on timing &/or who might offer up a deal to make it happen. Also Schenn for a 2nd helps.

Kuz Petey ???
Miky Miller ???
??? McDonough ???

Pretty good for the Tank 👍👍

Leaves it to Pod & Hog to win spots & other prospects when ready. McDonough will be signing & will get his audition. Don’t over play Demko once healthy.

Was just looking on Twit and it finally seems like even some of the most loyal fans are turning on the owners in particular, and the team.

Drance and Frankie finally did it.

Finally. It was always on FA then the team never in reverse order.

I kinda miss Neil McRae & Tony Gallagher. They make Drance a total nobody.

This explains it to a tee.
Kuz fell into their laps and was free money. With the way he has played and his contract, that free money turned into a lotto win. It is the best thing that has happened for this team in a long time, and they should use every last asset he can get in a trade to help improve the critical positions.
