Rutherford did say they weren't too interested in futures. It's not even just the draft picks anymore, after last draft does anyone even believe in the scouting to make the right draft picks with more and more wingers being picked with the continuous need for centers and defence.

Watching that presser this morning was rough. From the human element watching a fellow human being treated the way Bruce has been by upper management in today's day and age is inconceivable.

When the $$ and fans stop showing up is only when this will get better.

Good luck to Rick Tocchet and crew, but rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic again will more than likely end the same way as his predecessors.

I'm really interested to see – if this thing doesn't get turned around – how Aqau will get out of it. How much leash does he give Ruthy and Allvin? If ticket sales and money goes down over the next 2 years... does he continue on? 3 years? 5 years? How does he fire them without taking the blunt of all the blame?

Everything changes if this organization turns it around in the next couple seasons, but I don't think many of us see that as likely.

lol on the HNIC broadcast last night they said Boudreau's reg. season win % is second only to Scotty Bowman. No Motte, D!ckenson Highmore Lammiko our bottom 6 currently looks less than AHL quality. Lazar looks lost out there and looks like he misses Boston lol.

That's what I've been saying for a while about this management, they need other GM's to throw them life lines to do anything good.

So that set of games went well lol… remember before they signed JTM that character thing was thought about him. But they screwed up by not trading him. Now they may get more for Bo. Who funny enough was not thought of as anything more then a 5-6M long term extension. But 99pnt career year man JTM gets the money bag. Then all hell breaks loose after the team flop to start the season. This group just digs its own grave.

Three top centres in Miller Horvat and Pettersson looks like now they have no interest in winning games. Maybe they all want out. Miller with his little tantrum on the bench after the Oilers went ahead again and Bo/Petey look uninterested. Our bottom 6 look atrocious but hey, there are all cheap salaries lol. MNGT needs to address the D and even though Bear wouldn't have brought much to the lineup last night, we miss the right hand shot badly. Martin and Delia look like they should be below the AHL.

When the seats are empty and no one is buying beer, food, paying for parking etc then MAYBE Aquilini will see what needs to be done. But we all know a change of ownership is what the franchise needs badly.

On another note very happy for RNH he is quietly having his best season in the NHL.

Sad fact owners don’t need to be popular or accountable. Many teams had sh!t owners who didn’t want to spend etc. Nothing changed until they died or sold because they wanted the profit.

Whatever FA decides to do or not you’re right that results matter. This is why they are so focused to win. But they can build toward that. It’s not an aging core situation. Maybe why they’re on the total rebuild focus. Young players for the most part, just not the right mix, and with major holes on D. So to be a balanced well run team there needs to be discipline and commitment. They will get one draft and some trades now. Will it be enough? Your guess is as good as anyone’s.

At least the Kuzmenko pick up is found money that can go a long way. The agent is happy cause his client will cash in somewhere as he was given the opportunities to shine. This might allow more such pieces to come. Roster spots are open come prove your worth.

Yes the fix on D is challenging and why core piece trades will be needed. Then also getting rid of some D too. Drafting will take years. By then there will be a new core.
