The F group is outright horrible on the forecheck & backcheck. So bad they cannot kill a PK if their lives depended on it. Any coach can ask more from the F’s cuz it’s commonly referred to as team D. Look at your Bruins for lesson #1 then a Trotz team for lesson #2. Further lessons to come once you learn these grasshoppah. 😂

The main point is that JR was wrong when he said that the media is overreacting. Barry Trotz himself said that Bruce was going through hell. He's not the media or a fan, he's one of the most respected coaches in hockey.


I'll take Trotz word for it, he has nothing to gain from saying it publicly, if anything he's just burned a bridge even if it's not a bridge he was ever planning to cross.

Eventually replace the management team with more trusted and honest names which allow the team to rebuild their reputation and attract talent.

The management team was pretty clear about how they didn't like the way the team was playing last season, Bruce made a poor decision to stick around, when he chose his option. The Caunucks management made a bad decision to keep him.
Not upset to see Bruce leave, as I haven't ever liked his brand, but I do agree, it was handled extremely bad by Bozo, Ditso and Franco, the 3 stooges in the clown industry.

Not disagreeing with Trotz just saying the media walks away from any responsibility. They didn’t give an effin shlt about following up on what everyone could guess that BB’s time was up. They broke the rumours & didn’t care 1 iota of the effect it would have & how it mushroomed. Drance still carries on digging up dirt.

Forgive the rant, but it's been building. Been out of town for a while, back in BC in the belly of the beast.

Yes the media globbed on extra hard to the Boudreau firing, but it's not like the misstep was isolated. It is media after all. The best stories for them are those that tug on the heartstrings. It's not hard to see why images of the loveable BB were being cast all over the regular news, let alone sports news. It was still embarrassing and a stain on an organization that has so many lately, it really needs a change of shirt.

My wish: they sign Bo. Convince him the rebuild is on, but you are part of the core. A tough sell I know, but stay with me a moment. Trade Miller for a bag of pucks for all I care. That asset has already been mismanaged so just consider it a loss and write it off - if you can get out from under the contract. Package a pick or a younger reclamation project with him (maybe Hogs) and take whatever you can get.

This organization has turned a total blind eye to it's fans. Many hate Miller and a lot at least don't like him. That is absurd and should tell you right away there's a problem. How many 100 point players has this organization had ... not many. How many were disliked to the degree Miller is, I'd argue none. He's not what this fan base wants their team built around. There were signs before he came to Vancouver. Now that things aren't going well, he shows his true colours.

The entire D core needs overhauling. It's going to take time, and some deals and some luck and some signings. Use Kuz and Hughes as your chips, maybe Garland and Schenn get you something as well. Imho, Rathbone isn't much of a downgrade to the way Hughes plays right now ... but I think Hughes' value is still there with his stats, the fact he's signed and basically carried a lot of dead weight. Maybe NJ marketing gets so pysched on the potential of the brothers hughes. Then ... tankville. Like OEL & Myers on the top pairing kind of tank. See what we get draftwise. Go UFA for a reliable D or two after next year. I honestly think things don't change much until Myers is off the books 2023-24. OEL ... all we can hope there is the knee doesn't hold up. Crumby thing to wish for the person, but that's the salary cap for ya.

I'm sick of them completely mistreating the good guys. Linden was as embraced by any player in a city, and I think the only reason he came anywhere near the arena was Gino ... and I don't think there will be many more reasons big enough that he'll want to come back again. I don't hear much about the Sedins anymore but if they get lumped in with this era of mismanagement, I bet it doesn't take long for Aquilini to throw them under the bus as well. This management / ownership seems so out of touch, they might as well throw Messier up in the ring of honour. Maybe Horvat isn't the best captain, but he's sure showing what he can do now as a player and we're going to watch him excel elsewhere I bet. This movie has played over and over for canuck fans.

This is just another take on things. I've been in the trade everything (Bo included) for over a year now. Trades just don't seem to happen like they used to and it's hard to imagine us coming out anywhere on top. We had the chance with Miller last year and we blew it, twice. It might be time for them to admit they bet on the wrong pony, take their medicine and move forward.
