In my eyes it is smart, but not their smartest move with Kuzmenko. They want to try and continue competing, keeping one of the top 1st lines in the NHL together is a smart move. It also shows EP that we are retooling to remain competitive, which will make it easier to sign him long term.

Their smartest move was trying to get 2 1sts in value, get as many future assets as possible, reduce cap space and then draft/use assets to improve the team.

Not sure how much you think he is worth... based on history not including his Career year. He is a 60 point player. Which 7 mill is the highest I think he is worth... I would have offered him Boeser money too lol but because Boeser is so over paid it makes Horvat want more as a comparison. Should have just let Boeser walk and not traded our 2nd for cap relief..... anyways just my opinion on a 60 point player good at FO's that isn't that great defensively, physically, or as a playmaker.
