I think Yzerman would be all over that. Zadina really has minimal value at this point, he's still not a legit full time NHL player and is waiver eligible so basically that trade is Rasmussen and a 2nd round pick for Horvat, which would be a heist for Yzerman.

Decent chance you can get Zadina in a Studnicka type of trade.

You can but then you are trading him as a rental and the value lowers. If you trade him as part of the future, like Detroit who has a lot of cap room they become the frontrunners because of the return.

I really don't watch a lot of Zadina but the times I did see him play he looked fine to me. I don't have a lot to say about him. I just penciled him in as a third line forward.

I've watched/read a few Yzerman tweets, he goes out of his way to mention how hard it is to find good players down the middle(Center/Dman/Goalie) so I can see why he'd be giddy over a Larkin-Horvat duo down the middle with Copp moving into a more appropriate 3C/swiss army knife role.

Det has some good pieces and Bo is a good player and a standup guy. I think Detroit want to get out of the basement and make the next step. They have some good prospects and some good players. Signing Bo for seven years would not be the worst move they could make.
