I wanted to believe the line that OEL just needed a year to get comfortable in Vancouver and that Garland was a good value signing that could be flipped for a positive return on investment.

I wanted to believe that as well. OEL was one of my fav defensemen for years. Garland would never get profit on 9oa, but like many I thought we were closer to competing that we were/are and thought he would be a piece that would have us doing so sooner than a 9oa.

Jeff Paterson just posted that Horvat over his last 82 games. Has 45 goals 68 points for .83 ppg.

A .10 lower than Meier.

Much closer to .85 ppg 6x6 Brock Nelson. Who takes as many face offs as Bo does even though he doesn't win as many. Nelson was signed years ago but his cap % now would be about 6.4 at the "next" cap of about 84.5M.

Damn near 5.125M RNH. 5M Granlund near same ppg. These 2 have scored less goals though.

Bo just isn't worth more than 7.

I mean his main warts these days are that he's too slow, and can't find the time and space to get off his shot, not sure if any center on the team could really fix that. A team that plays faster and smarter than the Canucks likely could because those teams usually cause opponents to scramble and leave guys open
