They have a young team that desperately needs a taste of winning and playoffs. Larkin is a defensively responsible 1C who is good at passing. Horvat is a face-off beast who can score goals and is a top end 2c/low end 1c. As for puck distribution, they have wingers that can do this for Horvat to make a better line. I feel like he makes a great target if they can lock him up.

I’d assume they could lock him up he was a DET fan growing up. They are certainly a far more interesting trade partner than the other teams being discussed. Although Stevie Y will likely bend the Canucks over

Hard to say here. Canucks will have many suitors. But Stevie Y definitely won't get bent over.

EDIT: Locking Larkin up will also be easier after he is shown that they are serious about contending.

Once expected to be a top draft pick, ended up being a 2nd rounder in 2021.

Good size. decent hands. Middle 6 C type guy. Had a point per game in Liiga as an 18 year old.

I don't mind that. Throw him on Petey's wing for he rest of the season and pump his stats. Get something extra for him and next years TDL when we still suck.
