What about during the game? Forecheck? Dig for loose pucks? winning board battles? being first to loose pucks? Crashing the net together? Back checking hard shift in and out?

Does this team do any of that in a pack mentality for periods of the game instead of one guy does it one shift here and there while his teammates watch.

How about a shove? A slash? Bo couldn’t even swear at other players let alone touch them. I’ve never seen a more passive leader in hockey.

It's called having each other's back and it's more than the staged fights that happen that are more for entertainment than to actually send the message to the other team and other teams to "DO NOT (frank) WITH US!" that this group is incapable of sending.

They're talking about just generally standing up for one another, two examples of that are, the punch that Garlund took, and the crosscheck Joshua took in front of the net where no one did anything, nothing, crickets. They didn't have to fight but someone should've reacted to those two instances.

Most, if not all, of the fights this year for the Canucks have been for individual reasons, not for guys sticking up for one another. I think Schenn has a couple but the guys don't generally seem to care for one another. Which is why they need to make major changes within that dressing room.

The return was a little underwhelming for sure, solid though, but I would have to venture the offers themselves were a little underwhelming. For all the people saying "they should have gotten a conditional pick!" or "they should have gotten an unprotected 1st!", it's a bit hard to get those if no one is offering that. We don't know what the market was like. They probably could have got a little more if they let teams talk with his agents, but then also could have forced a trade to a team that wasn't presenting the best offer.

One thing on the pick: it is more than likely going to be better than the Carolina/Boston/whatever other top team pick this year (late 20s), and if somehow the Islanders don't make the playoffs and the pick ends up getting pushed to next year... that's a non-playoff team who gave up a 1st, and could potentially turn into a top top pick I'm sure that was part of the weight of the trade, Ruthy gambling on the Islanders being a bad team
