Here’s a fun true story, Kamloops Blazers tried to acquire Bedard for the 2023 memorial cup from Regina. Regina’s price was 10 1st rd picks for him.
That is for 1/3 of a year of a player that won’t be back.

Now do you think a NHL team is going to trade away a generational player that a team will get 10-20 seasons out of, for a couple of mid 1st round picks + a 5th-10th overall?
The ask would probably be those picks+Pettersson, Hughes & Demko all at 50% retained. And that’s probably still not enough.

I thought at the beginning of the year they have a team that will outscore their mistakes. They had a terrible start again. I came to the conclusion.the problem also seems to be off ice as well as on ice.

It was a repeat of years one more time. It needs drastic change IMO.
