If there contracts are the same I’d do that swap simply because pool party is taller and they can try a change of scenery. Two trash players

Van trading a 5th round pick to get Bear and Pederson with Hurricanes retaining on Bear a bit. I'd say JP has less value right now than Bear did, plus Bear's contract is smaller.

So overall Bear(retained) + Pederson >JP.

Canucks took 1.8M off Hurricanes hands, if Oilers want someone to take JP's full 3M and he has less value than Bear +. Value lower than 5th which is a 6th than 7th, futures, to a negative value Oilers adding a pick or prospect.
