At the earliest it’s the 2025/26 season to start any notion of contending. Even at that it’s very fast turnaround so better to become a perennial PO team at that point in time be the 1st goal. Idk if that’s enough time to remake the D corp so I’d temper it down & hope it’s well underway by then.

There comes a point in your career as a pro athlete where you earn that UFA status and weigh where you want to be and why. Clearly, wanted out or he would have entertained an extension. and based on where this team is and run, I would have left as well. The Canucks couldn't afford to lose him for nothing, and that's why we are here.
Interestingly though, they were not willing to get even close to this point with Miller. Kind of says it all right there. Especially when the player that Bo is, points, age, and positionally, is exactly the type of player that the teams says they want and need.

Not that I hang on every statement management makes, but back when minor surgery was needed, it was a 2 year surgery, now that it is major surgery, I would think you are looking at 4-5 years.
