Apparently it’s also widely known that we’re getting Saros according to EK

Kevin Weekes on ESPN+ at the intermission says that he's heard the Hughes timeline to return is basically 3 weeks from the injury, and that Jack is already champing at the bit to get back on the ice asap. So it seems like his return may be on the shorter side of the week-to-week, like last season.

Also followed suit with what Fitzy was saying about Nico, that it's more of an unknown for when he'll return at this point. Hope he's doing alright!

Sounds like Holtz is scratched. I (frank)ing despise Lindy Ruff being our coach. It’s BLATANTLY (frank)ing obvious how worthless this guy is when Jack isn’t out there scoring 4 goals a game. Why TF are we shooting ourselves in the foot with this (frank)ing MORON dinosaur of a coach?!

I look at players stats all the time for fantasy.. and most really don’t hit their stride until after 4yrs, even some picks around 6th overall. We can’t give up on Holtz. He did well in the A last year, he’s trying to figure out the NHL. Obviously he’s a liability defensively, and we’re weak as it is on that front. So I see the rationale for scratching him a game. But we can’t move on from him or make a bad trade with a poor return.

I agree, we can’t give up. Holtz has never been given top 6 mins. We drafted him to be a top 6 sniper. He balled out in the A, he’s scoring with Nate Driftwood Bastian so nothing to prove in the bottom 6 anymore. We didn’t draft him to be a defensive stalwart. We have enough other guys in the top 6 to make up for that. We drafted Holtz to snipe on Jack or Nico’s line. Put him there!

But Ruff REFUSES to give this kid a legit chance. I don’t understand why Fitzy or ownership entertains this dumb poop.

I don’t expect him to even be a 20g/20a guy this season. I expect a weak year, but a necessary one. Being scratched here and there is okay, just don’t wana give up on him.. I’m sure the team feels the same.

I wouldn’t say a knock but people made note that wasn’t a good part of his game, but said his shot will make up for it.

Down 3-0. If Holtz doesnt play the rest of the game next to Bratt, or atleast in the top 6, then Ruff needs to go. Zero excuses for not giving him all the ice time now, the game is likely over already.

Guess not. The forward with the 2nd most 5v5 goals on the team has the least amount of ice time in a game where we're down 3-0, without our 2 best centers. Make it make sense... Ruff clearly just doesnt like him. When will Fitz step in? All this talk coming into this season about how poorly Holtz was handled last season and how it should've been different, and yet here we are, the same exact thing happening.

Timo & Mercer…..two players who I wanted to score tonight. Who is next?
