No idea on the legitimacy of the report, but Nick Kypreos is saying that there are rumors that wont go away of Mike Sullivan being interested in leaving Pittsburgh to coach the Devils. - vlongo4419
Hire Sullivan as HC and Berube as Assistant. Pay Berube HC salary if that gets him here.

I’d gladly take Sully or Rod and his crazy eyes lol. I don’t get the fascination with Berube. He had a hot streak with a talented blues team backed by a hot goalie. Yay. He hasn’t done much in the league other than that. He was underwhelming in Philly. |

Yep, Berube would be an awful hire. The only person out there that i prefer Berube over is Green lol, but i wouldn't be shocked if Fitz went for him just solely based off of him winning a cup and being a hard ass. There's plenty of options that would be so much better than him.
Hoping the rumors of Ottawa pushing hard for him come true, and quickly, so hes taken out of the pool of options lol. |

Based on the rumors out there, if Sullivan/Rod/Cooper are off the board. The Devils have interviewed/talked to Craig Berube, DJ Smith, Ryan Warsofsky, Travis Green, and Todd McLellan. Other names out there that could be a possibility are the likes of Jay Woodcroft, Dave Hakstol, and David Carle, among others. Looks like Fitz is casting a wide net in the hiring process.
Based on the names we've already talked to, McLellan is my top choice. Woodcroft would be the top target overall but I'm going to assume he wont be interviewed and/or the Oilers won't let him interview. |

Saw Brunette is up for Adams Trophy. I really think he would have been our coach last season had he not had the DUI arrest at the end of the 2023 season.
Even if not, he is a vast improvement over Green |

Devils have signed Seamus Casey and Jakub Malek to their ELCs. |

Worst case scenario in the coaching department has been avoided, Travis Green is going to be named the head coach of the Ottawa Senators. Now hopefully Berube chooses Toronto after they fire Keefe instead of NJ. |

If rags win, Canes arent resigning Rod... Lets all suck it up and root for the rags, for the future of the Devils. |

I hate both teams so this is real difficult for me, but rod would be my top choice. Oh god just the rag fans being able to brag about making the ECF makes me sick.
Also fitz needs to try and get marchessault or Stephenson on this roster. I would also like to see him move haula and try and move Bratt for Wilson. |

Listen, the rags have a great team. They earned it if they go all the way. It is what it is. But their core is old, they will be rebuilding when we are thriving.
I'm not opposed to trading Bratt, but not for Wilson. Bratt is elite in the NHL. Probably the only way I'd trade Bratt is for a top end goalie. Otherwise he still is an amazing forward for us. We have D that will just get better every year. Seems like a G is the only trade I'd be cool with.
Also, if Casey make the roster, with a healthy Dougie. Our D is gonna be the envy in the league. |

I like bratt but I don’t think he’s built for the playoffs.
Hopefully our d will be envied, an envious d is something I’ve always wanted. |

Oofaa - that's gonna set the Sens back many years. They'll put Buffalo's rebuild timeline to shame

Devils hold onto the 10th overall pick post lottery. Now the question, will they pick or do they trade it. |

Darren Dreger reporting that while there's a lot of focus on Berube and NJ, the Devils are speaking to other candidates including Jay Woodcroft. He's for sure my top choice if Sullivan doesn't leave Pitt. Get it done Fitz. |

They literally had their best season under him, depending on what happens this year, going to the conference finals lol. Not his fault Edmontons management has been garbage and continued to hand him a roster with almost zero depth and piss poor goaltending(sounds familiar). Also not his fault Edmonton had an unsustainable low shooting % this year prior to him being fired. Very good rush numbers, very good cycle numbers, consistently solid defensive metrics. Good with young players(Bouchard, among others, credit him for his breakout). Luck/PDO ended up being his issue in Edmonton, it happens. Theres far more good than bad. He is the best non-Sullivan option out there for the Devils roster. |

I know right, crazy what happens when the PDO expectedly flips the other way and normalizes. 2nd worst PDO under Woodcroft and the 3rd best PDO under Knoblauch. |
