That was a barn burner last night. Reminded of those games vs the Isles about 10 or so years ago when they would have full line brawls at the 1st face off of the game.

Really impressed with how McLeod is developing. We seemingly have a very solid center group for the top 9……if they can stay healthy

That's ugly. Missing half the top 6 and our top defensive pair, plus a good PK man. Our depth is going to need to hold down the fort until the other half of our team is healthy

Fitz needs to be careful so he doesnt try to salvage the season by giving up the farm. I would make small adjustments and wherever we land, so be it. Can't let a few injuries derail the future.

But will all that said, VV needs to go ASAP. Dude is jeckyl and hyde in net.

Really hope Fitz doesn't make a move. This season is what it is. Wouldn't want to sacrifice the future for a fringe playoff year. Call is a wash. If we make it, great, if not, start up healthy next year

I agree with you. We have like half of our current cap injured at the moment lol. Some longer than others, but I wouldn't be making any moves for a rental. If Fitz wants to make a move that helps us beyond this season? Then fine, go for it. But I'd be totally out of the rental market with how injured this team is. It's just looking like one of those "It's not meant to be" years, so I'd rather just ride it out and see how it goes.

Definitely not Elvis, he's literally been Vitek the past 3 seasons lol. Markstrom is by far the #1 guy we could add but according to a ton of reports the price is astronomical. So thats not happening.

If I had to put money on who we end up with, if we actually make a move for a goalie, I'd probably say Jake Allen. Too much smoke there. Fitz has apparently wanted him for some time and Marty knows him from his time in St Louis.

Until we make a move though, I'd just waive Vanecek and roll with a Daws/Schmid tandem for now.

Props to getting 3/6 on that roadtrip considering the depleted lineup and opponents. Great effort from the guys filling in. Absolute must win the next two games against Montreal and Columbus. No excuses against those poop teams. Total gauntlet the next 11 games after that, so gotta get these points while we can.

Do we still have Vitek’s cap hit if we waive him? Yea I didn’t see a Vezina year coming for Helle. Right now I’d move a 1st and anyone besides Jack/Nico and Luke/Nemec for him- assuming he re-signs here.

Not the full hit. I believe we can bury 1.15M of his cap hit if he's in the AHL. So not the best, but it's atleast some relief. I'd still expect Vitek to be moved as a cap dump if we make a move for any goalie, especially if it's not a rental.

Gotta imagine a splash for a goalie happens this summer, even if it means we need to overpay. I can't see Fitz standing pat again.
