the argument for BOS was probably that Peeke was pushed in the goalie, preventing him from sliding to the other side to make a save, but that was a stretch imho. Montgomery must be happy the cats didn't score on the PP but I wouldn't have challenged that.

but they just said they announced they saw the contact and all but they didn't think it was enough contact. maybe they have an angle we haven't seen.

I think you need to call it a cross-checking penalty to make it goaltender interference. And the way they just stop calling penalties in the playoffs, there was no way they were calling that back.

they can be reviewed if the refs decide to do so, but not through a coach's challenge if I'm not mistaken.

can't they review a minor penalty if it's for a bad call at a critical moment during a game, like in the last minutes for example?

I think for a lot of guys it's an instant reflex to be appalled by any call made against them, no matter how bad it looked.
