you thought it looked like goalie interference?
the argument for BOS was probably that Peeke was pushed in the goalie, preventing him from sliding to the other side to make a save, but that was a stretch imho. Montgomery must be happy the cats didn't score on the PP but I wouldn't have challenged that. - Pat1993
i'd have to see it a few more times. i don't really know if there's any real cheating happening i just know i'd be frustrated if that was my team's goalie in the playoffs if he can't get in position because the opponent pushed a player into me or into my way.
but they just said they announced they saw the contact and all but they didn't think it was enough contact. maybe they have an angle we haven't seen.

same, and I get that 100%, but I think the prevailing logic here is that at some point you have to draw the line between direct contact with the goalie and the domino effect caused by players being pushed around in front of him... it would become too easy for a defenseman to simply let himself fall on his goaltender the moment he gets in contact with an opposing player, and plead goalie interference every time.

I think you need to call it a cross-checking penalty to make it goaltender interference. And the way they just stop calling penalties in the playoffs, there was no way they were calling that back.

true, and even during the regular season, in such circumstances it must be categorically obvious on the replay to reverse the decision, meaning that if it isn't all that clear the call on the ice stands.

they can be reviewed if the refs decide to do so, but not through a coach's challenge if I'm not mistaken.

can't they review a minor penalty if it's for a bad call at a critical moment during a game, like in the last minutes for example? |

I think for a lot of guys it's an instant reflex to be appalled by any call made against them, no matter how bad it looked.

the panthers take a 3-1 lead in the series, now they only have to get it done at home and get ready for their matchup against the rags. |
