Seems like the Montreal fan base thinks highly of Joel. Only Flyers fans don’t appreciate him. - mikeyo27
Saw a similar article from Buffalo wanting Farabee. Fans often get clouded judgement on their own players (see Toronto/Marner). Farabee is a good player who just put up his best season. He has yet to play consistently with a legit top center.
With that being said, if Montreal wants to discuss the 5th overall pick then I’d be willing to trade Farabee. It’ll take more than Farabee, but that’s the kind of move I’d entertain for him. Otherwise, if all you’re getting is the later 1st MTL has, I wouldn’t trade him. |

There should not be any ufa defensemen signed by Danny this summer. Maybe a belpedio/mete type of signing for the phantoms but bring back zamula, have ginning and attard battle it out for the 7 spot. McDonald/Andrae also in the picture. Absolutely no ufa defensemen for the flyers |

Just another in a long line of Flyer multi million dollar failures. Will be curious to see how Tippett responds this year and to a lesser extend Seeler). Flyers need to add a "mental toughness" aspect to their drafting evaluation, because almost to a man they lack it. - mr4tno
Kinda hard to evaluate intangibles. |

I don't know if it's changed or not but word is that Ginning will be going back to Europe for next season.

Was a rumor from a Swedish sports tabloid. As long as Ginning has at least a 50-50 shot at NHL time next season, with a chance at sticking, he'd likely give it at least one more year. |

If they bring in another vet and don’t move anyone out? I’d say slim. Here’s the depth chart
York/Sanheim
Seeler/Drysdale
Zamula/Ristolainen
Andrae - L
Attard - R
Ginning - L
McDonald - L
Bonk - R
As a lefty his main competition is Zamula, Andrae, and McDonald. |

Farabee was remarkably consistent -- and productive -- throughout the first half of the season, right up to the All-Star break. For whatever reason, he fell off in the second half apart from a few games (the two-goal game in Boston stands out the most). But it should also be said that it's harder to produce when you get yo-yoed all around the lineup, with revolving linemates and in and out of the top six. - bmeltzer
What's Farabee's role? I don't believe he scores enough to be seen as a goal scorer. He played well first half but if he doesn't put the puck in the net consistently... I don't hate Farabee. More frustrated with him. He is unnoticeable some games.

Farabee scored 22 goals this past season, with the slump he had. Do yourself a favor and look and see how many 20 goal scorers each team has.

so who is he? the player who was hot early or the player who was cold later?
end of the day he is a complimentary winger.
Why don't you tell the board what your expectations are for joel going forward? seems easy enough no? |

You have to wonder if that miracle run the Flyers had in 2010 also colors their vision. A poorly constructed team who made it in on the last day of the season and went to the Finals. The definition of a Cinderella story that they've possibly tried to recapture rather than build a solid foundation for sustained success. - Flyers_01
Absolutely! They will always have that Jim Carey "so you are saying there is a chance" attitude....and 50 years for now we will be talking about the 100 year anniversary of their SC. |

i hear people talk about the vet-tran presence being good for the younger players. If they bring in another vet D then that will be 4 to support York and Drysdale and York has already played 3 seasons. How much damn support do they need? |

This team really needs to fall flat on their face this next season. Or take flight like the stink bugs in my house and dive bomb the wall |

Farabee is 100% a player the flyers should move. As you said a complimentary winger. Get the value for him now. Willing to give him a pass coming off major injury but it’s put up or move on time for the player. You already gave Tippett a big contract. They are going to sign TK. Foerester on the rise. Move him if you can get good value. |

Key is to get off to a slow start. Goaltending position is a huge question mark. They start off bad it’s going to be miserable coming to the rink listening to Torts nonsense. |

Yes. Please don’t rush them. When they’re ready let them play in the NHL. Develop them please! |

That’s what they’ve done. Look at York and Brink. Foerester. They have done a good job letting guys get AHL time. |

Curious, what was poorly constructed about the '10 team 3rd pair D was weak, but fhe top 4 was excellent. Center depth was fine. I do wonder what would have happened if Emery's hip did not implode.
Unfortunate that Pronger sustained a career ending injury. I believe he would have aged gracefully like Chara. I see a similar career arc for Hedman playing very well into his late 30s.
Once Richards and Carter were traded that was the end of that run. The Flyers got back good pieces but giving up 2 top 6 centers in their primes was a blow. - Trox88
I agree with you 100 percent. I think the current Flyers downfall began with those trades. The got some nice pieces back But you do not give up 2 top 6 centers and think you could contend after that |

That’s not going to be easy one thing torts will do is have them ready to hit the ground running as we all know |
