The planet's string of record-breaking temperatures has continued for a full year, with May marking the 12th consecutive month for which its average temperature set a new record for that month. |

who do they draft at 5? Would you trade that pick to get a center that can help the team now? - deadpoulet
no to the last part
Assuming Celebrini goes first, here is my wish list for the #5 depding who is left on the board.
Demidov (LW/RW)
Levshunov (RHD)
Lindstrom (C/W)
Iginla (LW/C)
If you ask me, I say they end up drafting Lindstrom, late riser (they like that), was injured part of the season which might allow him to slip down to fifth

they will try to package that pick with a young LHD (Harris or Struble) and maybe another player for a young RFA (like they did for Dach and Newhook).
Not sure that will work though, the right deal for the right player has to be available. Looks like the is tons of interest in Necas which might bring the price above what the Habs are willing to pay. Zegras, looks like the ducks are asking for a crazy price.
Not sure who they will target, they might end up settling for a good 3rd line player and try again during the regular season or next summer to acquire a top 6 |

Pronman latest mock Demidov and Miettinen for Habs - AGalchenyuk27
1. Celebrini
2. Levshunov
3. Silayev
4. Columbus Blue Jackets: Cayden Lindstrom, C, Medicine Hat (WHL)
Projecting Lindstrom’s position is difficult due to some teams’ concerns about his back injury, which ended the second half of his season. We’ll know more about that issue after the combine, but most teams are assuming he will make a recovery even if they need to be convinced. If so, he is highly appealing as a 6-3 center who can fly, score and lay the body. Columbus would have to choose between getting bigger in someone like Lindstrom or Silayev or adding skill in Demidov.
5. Montreal Canadiens: Ivan Demidov, RW, Ska St. Petersburg Jr. (RUSSIA-JR.)
I think Montreal would be very happy if Demidov got to this spot; he would add the elite skill they lack in their organization. If he didn’t it gets more interesting. In that case, you’re likely debating between Lindstrom, Beckett Sennecke or Tij Iginla.

If they want to improve as a team, they need to improve their special teams. Their PK desperately needs help |

Beck, Kapanen and Roy - Symba007
Beck, who is supposed to be a Evans 2.0, should start the season in Laval and probably will join the Habs once Dvorak gets traded at the tdl.
Kapanen, I don't know yet. very low expecations tbh.
Roy is interesting, certainly the best offensive player of these 3, the closest to be an NHL player. will they have a spot for him on the team in October? not sure. hope so though. |

I meant for 2025/26 season. It will take one more year to move some dead wood.
I want the young guys to spend a year together in the AHL. Hutson, Beck, Roy, Unicorn, Engstrom, Farrell, Mesar, Kidney. Let them cook and learn while HuGo keeps cleaning up the mess left by Bergy contract wise.
Price, Gallagher, Anderson, Dvo, Armia.
By next year, Savard, Armia and Dvo will be gone (trade or UFA), Evans and Pezz will also be UFA.
