My guess if Lidstrom / Demidov are both gone (likely), they will go with Catton or Sennecke (Iginla is the outside chance).

While it's always a risk... top Russian players usually end up coming to North America.

I'm not really worried about it. The wasted year in the MHL would suck but it wouldn't ruin his career either.

Habs are in no rush, and unlike Michkov, I have only heard positive things about Demidov.

But he will be gone by #5, so no point in worrying.

Military service isn't a big deal. They all do it over several years month by month in the offseason. Same with the Finns and Swiss players.

I am hoping he slides to 5th but I have some doubts. Only way it happens is if Lindstrom and another D (outside of Levshunov) get picked in the top 4.

I think if he does drop in the the teens during the draft, someone will be very happy to grab such a talent at that rank. Just like the Habs with Caufield.

Kid is 17 and 2 weeks from being in the 2025 draft. The scrutiny on him is really strange.
