it isnt hard.in fact it is very simple. it just isn't the flyers "way". A way which is a total failure. pure incompetence.
Not even the right person to execute it. Just a competent one.
2 guys in the next 2 drafts who are that elite level you need. a smart team does everything they can to put themselves in the best spot to draft those 2. be funny as hell if pitt bottoms pout and get son of them..... - hello it's me 2050
They are rebuilding. Bill told us. Danny told us. Hell they traded walker while they were in a playoff spot. When are you going to learn that you can’t believe your lying eyes!!! |

Good article.
I’ll say it again, if they resign TK, I’m out. They won’t miss me and I doubt I’ll miss this mess. |

Hence the timing of the distraction. They’re not stupid. But they are predictable.

Nice article about Cutter. I must say the Flyers are fast approaching legendary comedic value with the level of dysfunction they consistently display. They are almost on the level of the Cubs and the Billy goat.

As Twitter and the hockey forums lit up, the Flyers turned their local broadcast into a forceful PR spectacle. In the first three hours after the trade, their entire “New Era of Orange” management team appeared on their team-affiliated media channels to hammer home a unified message.
There was the hallway press conference from ex-Flyer-turned-GM Ron Bobby Paul Daniel Briere. There was an NBC Sports Philadelphia booth reunion with ex-Flyer-turned-commentator-turned-President Keith Jones. Head Coach and commercial narrator John Tortorella added his zingers in the postgame. And as a treat, team-affiliated podcast Snow the Goalie even hosted some jargon time with the health insurance executive Comcast hired to babysit the other three.
But despite all the talking that the new Flyers braintrust did that night, they really didn’t say poop.
Sure, they were consistent with their scripted mantras: “Cutter didn’t wanna be a Flyer!” and “If you don’t wanna be a Flyer, you’re not gonna be a Flyer!” Throughout all that righteous chest-thumping, though, they swore they had no idea why.
Good article and confirms what some of us have been saying. The "Quitter Gauthier" narrative got the hard sell and the outrage over not meeting LeClair was over the top. The team brass were fair maidens who got disrespected ::sarcasm::
Lindros's quote pretty much applies to this situation :
“It wasn’t saying no to the people,” Lindros said in 2020. “It was saying no to one particular person who ran the team. And that’s my right…I thought people would understand, but my family’s not a PR firm, and we were going up against a PR firm. It was lopsided.” |

It really would've been funny if he had been scheduled to fly last friday when the Cloudstrike cluster happened.
The conspiracy theories would've been flying.

I’m tempering my expectations right off the bat. But I expect big things in time. If the Flyers handle him right, great. But if they don’t, he’ll accomplish it somewhere else.

Yardbarker put out this offensive lineup to start the season.
Foerster-Couts-Michkov
Tippet-Frost-TK
Farabee-Laughton-Brink
Cates-Poehling-Hathaway
Deslaurier-healthy scratch
Looks like the same crud from last season, but with the addition of Michkov. - Thors-Hammer
I’ve so many projected potential line combos to start, that I don’t think we have too much of a clue what to expect.
I’ve seen 2C being either Laughton or Frost. I’ve seen situations with the LW being any one of Foerster, Tippett, and Bee. The only consistent was Coots being 1C. TK is usually RW1 and Michkov RW2, but like you said, others feel differently.
My guess would be Michkov starts on the second line to begin, though. I don’t think they pull TK from the top line just yet.
Personally? At least to start the season, I’d like to see them experiment with…
Tippett - Coots - TK
Foerster - Frost - Michkov
Farabee - Laughton - Brink
Cates - Poehling - Hathaway
First off, yeah, that means Desnoyers and Deslauriers aren’t there, and we’re probably gonna see at least one of them play. After all, they paid them. Whatever. It’s a big pile of WGAF down there at this point anyways.
I dig the 2nd line youth here. Would they probably want a more seasoned vet somewhere? Yeah, I suppose. Swap Tippett and Foerster if you want, but I chose this 2nd line combo for three reasons:
- I like that these guys could play with one another for several seasons and gel with one another.
- I like that Michkov’s skating can potentially really cause problems and he may be able to find an open Foerster to rip that big shot of his.
- I like that Frost will be given the keys to drive a talented line on a put up or shut up contract year. He knows this year is huge.
I’m pretty open to suggestion as to why another would do things differently. It’s not like we’re actually callin any shots here.
We really aren’t sure what to expect. That’s just why I like these combos. |
