you were gone for a while but it's been like this basically the whole time... it got a bit more busy with the Laine acquisition but that's it. - Pat1993
Yeah, I was just burnt out on hockey (and the same discussion, mostly not about hockey).
The Laine deal really got me energized for some Habs games now.
I wanna see how this all plays out.

yeah, at the end of the day it takes some actual hockey to get things going, with training camp at least we'll be able to speculate how amazing Anderson is going to be. |

Yeah everything is about paywalling. I miss when you bought a game and you got the whole (frank)ing game. |

I still casually play... been gaming with the same bunch of folks since the early 90s, when we played / coded LPMuds. We moved around (Lotro, ESO, etc..) but played Warcraft mostly.
The core group is still there.
So I like hanging out with them, shooting the poop, playing a little warcraft, getting carried in content.
Of course, a lot easier to keep in touch now, but still fun to play games with the same friends from 30+ years ago.

Anderson is my dark horse pick this season.
(I mean, hard to be worse than last year).
If they manage to move Dvorak (or even Evans), I can see a Dach / Laine / Anderson line being interesting.

exactly. and when more time was spent by developers making the game actually be good, instead of coming up with new esthetic packages that do jack poop.

I have no idea what all that means. I played Diablo mostly, last time I played Warcraft regularly was with Warcraft II loll.

Every now and then I get weird nostalgia for it. Worries me since I haven't played it since 2008. Quite the memorable game. |

some have brought up the idea of a "1-2-3 line", with Slaf (1st overall) Laine (2nd overall) and Dach (3rd overall), which could be very interesting, but I'd keep Slaf with Suzuki and Caufield for sure, at least for now. |

Back in the days before webpages....
(For simplicity sake) The internet was like a series of links (think of a tree with branches, you go up / down levels), and some of those links connected people to the same central computer to play game.
An LP Mud (multi user dungeon) is basically a game like Warcraft, but in text format, where you have lots of people playing at the same time, can communicated, do events together, etc... etc...
Of course, it was all text, no voice back then.
But it was fun, especially when you could add to the code yourself and make quests and areas for others to play in, too.
Yeah.

I think you want to split Laine and Slaf... but I could also see Laine with Suz and Slaf with Dach.
Again, can't wait to see what they try and what works.

that's cool though, didn't think such a multiplayer text-based game even existed back in the day.

The line might be poop defensively, but that's probably the biggest line in the NHL if they did it. BEEF! |

for sure... with Laine and Dach in the lineup, all of a sudden you've got some very interesting possibilities to play around with.
also, with Hutson potentially being there you could have a more than decent power play.

Like I said, met a lot of cool people there, have gone to meet them in person, been to weddings, gone on trips/vacations together... a lot less now that most of them have kids (SUCKERS!), but those kids are all slowly leaving the nest, so us old (frank)ers will get back to hanging out more eventually.
