Yeah! Raises expectations immediately but I like the high reward potential, and it’s very metigated risk - Fredo

never said I didn't like the trade! they gave up nothing!
Harris for a 2nd is already a win in my book.
then there's Laine. I'm not the one paying him 9M per for 2 years, but I'm not expectiing much from him tbh. - fidopro
ok good !
I'm willing to bet he making 50 pts this year haha |

not at all, I just have 0 expectations. so if he does well I'll be happy. and if he does very well I'll be even more happy!
but I won't be disappointed if this doesn't work.
when you get 2nd overall for nothing... |

I really liked Harris, also, he seemed to be a really good character guy (from what I read/saw video of).
Someone had to leave, eventually, I think he will do really well in Columbus.

wait, so the habs get Laine, and a 2nd round pick..??
damn, I was not expecting that trade... and now they're like only 1M over the cap??
my only concern now is all the bullpoop talk surrounding his personal issues and his stay in the player assistance program, but surely discussions were had with the habs prior to the trade, and Hughes pulled the trigger because he felt this was the best decision for the team moving forward.
now I reaaaaally want hockey season to start again!!! |

I mean, this is actually pretty damn cool. if Laine gets things going, the habs could have some pretty sweet combinations in their top 6. and Demidov hasn't even entered the picture yet. |

the habs weren't even part of Laine's NMC list lol... after talking with Hughes, Gorton and MSL he felt this was a nice opportunity. |

i agree. it's exciting. i don't know anything about his personal situation or why he went into the program but it doesn't seem like he was doing an 8 ball a day or suicidal or anything. it'll be exciting to see him play for montreal. |

there's surely going to be a bunch of speculation, such is the nature of the beast in MTL, but it's a low-risk high-reward kind of deal for the habs. love it. |

very hapy about it too ( the trade)
my bet is they are trying to pass Dvorak somewhere, Newhook would become your 3rd c, you can put Roy with Dach and Laine, then Armia and Gally with Newhook ? |

other moves will obviously be made, but I think habs management will try to be cautious and not start building around Laine right away before he even plays a game. his performances on the ice will need to be at a certain level before they fully commit. |

How about we stay with the guys still in the NHL
I mean I thought it was Harris + 2nd and I was happy
just realised we are the ones getting the 2nd
if you dont like this trade you are an imbecile, the cost is next to nothing
you have 2 years to evaluate him, if it doesnt work, let him go...
Its the thing that you can't get normally ( or very difficult) Size with Scoring - Xizord
Laine becomes the Habs best forward for the next 2 years. If he fails, you don’t resign him. Helps the team immediately. That 2nd is just icing on the cake |

Price on LTIR.
Problem solved... but Dvorak gone would really help things a lot.
