One would think that you don't make the move to terminate if you're not on solid ground. - MJL
It's a bold move, simply to avoid LTIR. I agree, Comcast's lawyers must feel they have an iron clad case.

They did and based on current information, it was a mistake. As always, in the end, time will tell.

Drafts should not be judged until a couple years out. I did find it peculiar that they passed on another Oderkirk client who is in the NCAA. I don’t mind Luchanko, as he plays close to where I live so I do get to follow his progress along with the other two guys in London. - landros 2
Agreed. People get too tied up in the hype. Nobody knows whats going to become of either guy. I think Luchenko has a higher upside than Biuim does. It is one thing to dominate VS teens than it is to play VS grown men. We wont know until we see how they adapt to a game with less time and space and much bigger and stronger opponents.

It's an interesting coincidence for sure. Fights with two of his clients and if they had drafted Buium and he forced a trade like Goat then what a mess.. |

If the Flyers lose does the PA or the NHL do anything?

Maybe wait until after he's had that monster year before taking your victory lap?

True, but I am confident about this one. |

Why do you think Luchanko has a higher upside? Buium was universally rated higher than Luchanko was?

I wonder if Buium and Oderhardt ghosted the Flyers prior to the draft? |

The Flyers could have made the playoffs and still been in a position to draft Luchanko. |

Some additional potential insight into the nuts and bolts of it (although i would not call the Flyers "extremely courageous" for doing this) :
https://www.broadstreetho...yan-johansen-dispute-101/
Pursuant to the SPC, a third, independent doctor must have been consulted. If you trust the Flyers’ front office, you can assume that the third doctor deemed Johansen fit to play, but if you believe Johansen’s agent, the doctor may have come to the opposite conclusion. Regardless, one thing is essential to understand: If the Flyers failed to follow the above process step by step, they likely prejudiced Johansen’s rights under the SPC and improperly attempted to terminate it. |

I'm confident in stating that it is unlikely that the Flyers made this move without consulting the league and their lawyers. I don't think they made this move independently.

Interestingly enough, i think the last "material breach" case in the NHL might've been Mike Richards. |

The one that feels at least a little similar is that Dustin Byfuglien saga. Though I believe he eventually agreed to terminate, whereas
Johansen does not seem willing. That was for a lot more money too. |

A PoHO that has never worked in an NHL front office in any capacity whstsoever.
An inexperienced GM whose minuscule hands on experience came under the stewardship of a grossly incompetent GM
A overbearing, narcissistic and petty tyrant of a head coach who holds grudges and plays favorites.
What could possibly go wrong? |

It was. First bus A comes, which is you making a silly statement. Followed by bus B, which is me commenting on it. Bus B is a very easy route and it runs frequently due to the unreliability of bus A.

All I can say is I told you all so. Jett will have a monster +1 year at Gaulf and will make the Flyers next season. And then when that happens many on here ripping the Flyers now, will say "Buium who?" - jd250
Maybe we let him play an nhl game before we say I told you so lol |
