I’ve thought since the beginning with laf that they purposely didn’t give him upper line minutes until they really have to. Which they hadn’t until last year. How many teams 1OA picks take that long to make the the top 6? Can’t be many - Slimtj100
I believe there was mismanagement of Laf and Kakko in the beginning. Rangers history of player development would suggest so too.
I think the Rangers have 2 PP units if Lavi plays them evenly. I wouldn't want to throw Laf on PP "1", just because if his play style doesn't fit the others.

if PP1 is having a dominant shift, keeping the puck in and just cant score and takes 1:30 of PP time I just hate when people complain that PP2 didnt get a chance

Of course that happens. There are many examples Lavi has kept the PP1 unit on after a whistle too.
For the record, I was not complaining. Merely commenting.

I think its just a matter if you have Adam Fox (100% healthy) and Artemi Panarin and they are not tired yet how could you fathom taking them off the ice to put out Kakko and Trouba
I got the headset when it went on sale a few weeks ago for 350. Also just got the PC adapter for 60. I think despite some minor short comings that VR is the most impressive thing I have seen in gaming in 15+ years.

this and asking Panarin to actually get off the ice is no easy chore when on the PP. I was always fond of your idea of keeping Fox on for all two minutes. I would expand that to include Bread too, and then rotate Laf, Zib, Vinny, CK, Chytil for the other 3 spots

They had the luxury of not giving Laf and Kakko top minutes right away since we had top 6 talent already. Most teams that pick top 3 overall are not close to competing and therefore are able to thrust those top picks into top minutes right away and let them learn on the fly.

Was going to reply with pretty much the same. Who would have been demoted to the 3rd line when Laf joined the team? Bread? Kreider? Simply no room for Laf in the top 6.

Lafreniere's first season just happened to be the weirdest NHL season ever, like you said he was a left wing with two of the best left wings in the league ahead of him and he probably wasnt in the greatest shape either
he got humbled a bit by his first few years in the league, his offseason committment was publically questioned too, and worked his ass off last off season, he was finally moved to RW where he absolutely thrived as season went on and is now on a path to still being the best player in the 2020 draft when all is said and done

Sounds like you’re taking notes to write his biography (just making a stupid joke please don’t kill me)

This is why I think he needs PP1 time to reach full potential and maximize his points. Him and tro were their best skaters in PO too
