Again, I really don’t think we acquired Hayes to play hockey and given his tendency to check out mentally and take checking shifts off, I think he’ll find himself in Sully’s doghouse pretty quick. We traded for Hayes to get that 2nd. - Victoro311
I think we got a second because he isn't worth his salary or at least not the best use for it. And I agree the second is the reason we got him.
But that doesn't mean he's completely cooked and has nothing to offer. I don't think he's getting back to 40-50 points unless he gets some PP time. But being a 30 some point 3C isn't a stretch. |

We have way too many forwards, something like:
DOC - Sid - Rust
Bunt - Geno - Rak
McG - Eller - Beau
Liz - Hayes - Acc
which still leaves JP, Glass, Puust, Bem, and all the WB guys. Probably try and move somebody before the season, then move Eller, Beau, Glass at the TDL. |

I mean he’s 32. He’s at the age where the old man decline can hit like a brick any given moment. Could very well just be cooked. |

You will see why no team wants him. He is a load plays with no energy, effort or enthusiasm. For a big guy hits noone. It's unfortunate because every once in awhile he displays his talent but it's rare. As a 3c or 4c wont hurt you but you will see why you were given a 2nd to take him. |

I feel like we probably see Eller and/or Acciari traded before the season starts.

Acciari is definitely the most redundant player we have but Eller should be a lot easier to move and for positive assets. I definitely think we see at least one more trade this offseason. |

Acciari has 2 years left on his deal, which makes me skeptical we can move him without throwing in something, but who knows, maybe we can pull that off.
It'll be interesting to see what happens with some of these other guys like Hayes and Glass. Presumably they'll try and give them some good ice time to let them improve their trade value, but not sure they'll manage to take advantage. |

Glass is young enough that if he pans out Dubas may want to keep him until the stars retire and we start this rebuild for real. Way I see it with Glass is he either pans out in the middle six and we extend him with plans to sell him in the future or he sucks and we let him walk or trade him at the deadline for something insignificant |

I curious how sully is gonna deal with Groaty. I love the clip of him demolishing that Swedish kid but hopefully he’s not taunting fans or players. I mean it would be entertaining as hell, but sully would have a hay day in this gentleman’s lg. if he scores in Winnipeg while getting booed I see him starting poop haha |

Sure, there's a chance Glass actually works out and we extend him before the TDL, but he's a young guy that a team was willing to waste a pick just to get rid of rather than pay one year at $2.5M, so I'm not hopeful he's going to be worth extending. However, if he can have a pulse then maybe we can send him out at the TDL and get a mid-to-late-round pick back (since he'll be on an expiring contract, somebody may want to rent him). |

As I said before my expectations are real low for Glass. I don’t think he’ll pan out. My point was more I don’t see us getting anything of significance for him at the deadline because if he does gain value playing for us I think we keep him instead of trading him |

I think there's a lot of room between worthless and extension where he could do well enough for warrant a 4th or 5th back as a rental at the TDL but where we don't want to commit to him on a multi-year deal. |
