Eh, my 40" is enough, I guess I'm the only one not trying to compensate for something. - jugkope
mine is an old 40" Samsung, one of the first "smart" TV models, and it's totally fine. if I had a bigger living room maybe I'd go for a larger size, but personally I find 80" is too big for a common-size living room. |

If having a small Richard is what's needed to watch that TV on a daily basis, so be it.

I used to own a 42" tv, had it for a loooooooong time before I gave it away to a friend who needed one and had no money.
Trust me on this. When you get bigger, you realize 40" isn't enough. - Scabeh
I have a hard time believing this, I think it really depends on the size of your living room, but to each his own I guess. |

been watching a 50'' LED for years.
doing research, found out that if you're sitting at 10-12'... you can go as big as 65-70'' easy.
there goes my budget lol |

The guy I linked earlier has a good video explaining the ideal size of the TV for the distance you are from the TV.
Just get the biggest one to respect that range.
Look for "Stop the FOMO" on youtube, guy is a superb nerd about it.

We used to have a... I dunno, 60-66" rear projection when I grew up? I don't mind the 40 (actually I just measured and it's a 32"). |

which was kind of my point, maybe once my old Samsung dies I'll go for a bigger size, but not a whole lot, with an average size living room I find 70" or bigger would be just silly. |

My computer screen is smaller than the previous one, I'm still in the mindset of "my laptop is a 30" so my TV has to be a 40" ", but I'm on a 26" laptop now. |

that's what I always thought too, but with new tv's you can get bigger, compared to the old technology. |

I have had a Pioneer plasma for years and love it.
If you watch lots of TV I would go OLED the picture quality and colors are better. |

i was gifted a 55" fire tv. the brand is insignia, which is a budget brand, but it seems fine so far. i haven't noticed anything that looks or seems bad.
of course, i had a sanyo and a sylvania before this so i might just not be very fancy. |

yeah but I'm not even talking about resolution or image quality... I guess I'm just saying my eyesight is good enough that I don’t require something that looks like a (frank)ing Imax theatre. |

Let's just say when I play NHL on it, sitting from 3.5m, I don't have issues following the action |
