I did a quick google and found this paper from 2022, which is kinda interesting.
Conclusions: NHL fighting rates have diminished during the past two decades, while fan attendance has increased. A significant negative correlation exists between fan attendance and fights per game, casting doubt on fighting's entertainment value. Meanwhile, a significant inverse correlation was noted between goals per game and fights per game. Taken together, these findings suggest fans may prefer higher scoring and less violent competitions. We conclude by suggesting that prohibiting fights in the NHL could improve player safety without negatively impacting fan attendance. - dbot

See this is exactly why Lefty is right about your lack of Hockey knowledge.
Dryden was drafted in 1964 and traded shortly thereafter to the Habs. So he most definitely was a part of the Habs organization while Esposito was there. He was their property. - Load Management
I don't consider someone a part of the organization until they actually play within the organization. Pretty sure Dryden was still in college when Esposito was playing in Montreal.
With the way some people think these days, a player gets drafted by a team, that player elects to go to college or stay home in Sweden etc, they credit the organization for good development practices. Lol

Lame. His rights were still owned by them, which totally means he's within the organization. |

Apples & Oranges. Teams back then didnât develop players they loaned them out &/or hoarded them cuz of territorial protection rights. Habs & Leafs had a huge advantage on the latter. Hence many cups should have asterisks cuz of the tilted ice. |

No worries. It's the dog days. I'm still in baseball mode myself. I still manage to give head shake when I see a Stan Bowman quote, and marvel at what a scummy organization the Oilers are. But I've still got a bit to go before I get back into fiery Hockey debates. Hope you had a good summer. |

Not much hockey news out there, in terms of the Canucks. Demko's injury is reported to be a one in 50 years type of injury, probably blew up one of his nuts or something weird like that.
Draisaitl is reportedly going to be re-signing in Edmonton in the next few days, which will make Lordy and the rest of the Oilers fans happy. Still say they're not getting out of the first round next year.
A lot of political news out there right now, both federally and provincially in Canada, and in the greatest country in the world...the United States of America.

Dbacks playing lights-out but they just can't catch those mega spending Dodgers. Should easily make a wildcard spot though and crush them again in the playoffs, should they meet.
Oh...coincidence. |

Mexico pauses relations with US and Canadian embassies because they can't mind their own (frank)ing business. They both should concentrate on fixing their own sh1t shows at home first.
Viva Presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador! |

The Dodgers are starting to get some key players back. Just need the bullpen to step up. Plus, we've got Ohtani this year. I'll bet he's a monster come playoff time. |

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) is a no BS guy who gets things done. I watched his press conference yesterday, when he basically told the US & CAN to mind their own (frank)ing business and ended diplomatic relations on the spot.
Good for him. He's good for the people. |

You know, you only need to show $293,000 USD in savings for the past 12 months to become a permanent resident in Mexico, and it never expires.
" Qualifying savings/investments showing account balance(s) totaling at least c.US$293,000 over the last 12 months. (The total must not fall below the minimum amount required at any time over the last 12 months.)" |

Too bad there is a cesspool between here & Mexico. On the bright side their ignorance keeps them drinking the koolaid. Good thing our plans are for 2 or more annual vacations & fly non-stop over it. November cannot come soon enough. |
