Can’t wait until the regular shows come back, especially Steve Kouleous - mikeyo27 Agreed! Although Kouleous can be a pain in the ass sometimes. He still thinks the 1996 World Cup was highway robbery and that the American U.S. hockey team (1980) couldn't beat the Isles. He doesn't like when the Americans have success in what he considers to be his sport. When he sticks to just talking about the NHL he is fine and he is entertaining. |

a settlement also doesn't look all that good for either party. - hello it's me 2050
I disagree. Johansen will get some money and the Flyers won’t have to use LTIR from the start of the season. Each party would get what it wants. I am sure Johansen wouldn’t want to screw over the rest of the players in the league by fighting this too hard and losing. Neither would Overhardt. He’s a smart enough agent to know it would be bad for his brand if he was part of taking all medical decisions out of the players hands just so a guy about to retire can keep an extra $2.7 million. |

Necas reportedly is having problems with Brind'amore in terms of his style of play. I wonder how Necas would do with Torts? - jd250
The reports state that he talked with RB and things are clear now after resigning
"Finally, Necas touched on the importance of improving his relationship with head coach Rod Brind’Amour, particularly concerning his ice time. Necas’s average ice time dropped by more than a minute last season, which he attributes partly to differences in playing style with Brind’Amour. I think we will (make it work) and we have to," Necas said. "It’s important for us, I’ve got to give him something for him to give me (more ice-time).
"I never had a problem with Rod off the ice, we’ve always been good to each other. I’ve got to be better. Be a player he can trust. I’m looking for a bigger role, I definitely want to play more, but obviously I’ve got to show it on the ice and I already talked with Rod.”

I don't agree. Settlements are typically done just to get things over with. These things can drag on and often times a settlement is easier for both parties. This happens in the legal system too.
Both parties can be satisfied with a compromise rather than dragging this out until potentially next season. Saves s lot of money in lawyer fees too |

Well, not to defend JD here, but considering there are approx 768-800 players in the NHL, his statement was pretty accurate. - MBFlyerfan
C'mon MB. He didn't say he was one of the top shot attempt players in the league. He said he had more shot attempts than just about any player in the league. There were 13 players ahead him and the leader had 174 more shot attempts. His comment was light years from being pretty accurate. It was completely inaccurate. |

And yet you and others speak on frosts production per 60 as gospel 😂 it was all I heard every time he came up lol
You have no problem mentioning frosts points per 60 being the highest on a weak flyers roster but Tippett’s rank in shot attempts per 60 league wide magically becomes “not a great way to measure a player”. it’s a comical and pathetic spin.
You can’t have it both ways. |

What if Frost and MM become the poor man's version of the Sedin twins? Frost never reaches 20 goals but gets 50+ assists per season. Michkov is a 30+ goal scorer.
I'd take that in a heartbeat. - cdearth23
I don't get the feeling we'll see Frost on a line w/ Michkov anytime soon. |

He couldn't be bought out or sent to the minors because he was on IR.

You can say what you want about Torts, but look at his track record. Players that he has discarded continue to bounce all around the league after they leave the team that he removed them from. He seems to be a pretty good judge of character from where I sit. You think I'm making up what I heard on NHL radio? That's all they do is talk hockey. You think they don't get into players personalities? They certainly do and they've thrown many a player under the bus if they deem them worthy of such treatment. Hell, tune into Boomer and Jake Hahn in season. They have a fantasy show where they literally BOMB players for sucky play! - Phillywhiteout
The only guys I’ve heard on hockey radio and TV openly getting spoken down about are the obvious choices. Like Sean Avery of the past. Pierre-Luc Dubois currently.
Who am I suppose to look to for the bad mouthing of Ryan Johansson? You’re claiming that players are speaking out about him, I haven’t heard a damn thing about him outside of this current situation. |

when the season was over both parties could have declared he was healthy and agreed to a buyout. that never happened, why?

Dave McCarthy is a hoot! Dude just said Michkov is listed as 5'10" 147 lbs. !! WTF! You know that station is down to their 5th stringers this time of year. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say those stats are wrong. The dude looks pretty stocky to me. I tried to call in, but there was a waiting list. I just looked up his stats and it says he weighs in at 176 lbs. Thought he would be a little heavier than that, but he is only 19 after all. |

If you don't have satellite radio you don't have access to it. If you choose to think that I'm making this up for some reason then go with that. I don't really care at this point. If you have satellite radio it is channel XM91. They have bad mouthed many a player and he is on that list of being lazy/cantankerous players. They give players plenty of accolades as well, but he isn't one of em. |

TDA was on Morning Cuppa Hockey last week and said he was not signed in Russia but was waiting for an NHL contract. Did this recently change? Admittedly, I have not been paying too much attention the last 4 or 5 days. |

Because it’s dumb to tell someone to do their research and than turn around and say “oh I heard it on a radio show”.
Excuse me for working. |
