I don't get the feeling we'll see Frost on a line w/ Michkov anytime soon. - Tomahawk
Are you thinking Coots? It will be interesting to see how it shakes out. Bottom line is we don't have an adequate center for him. My thinking is MM might make Frost play faster and be more creative.
Personally, I'd like to see us tread carefully with Michkov. Give him time to adjust. I'm afraid he might get anointed as our savior. Kid's only 19. There will be plenty of ups and downs. |

Because he thought he could get away with faking an injury and getting the full amount. - psuhockey
my comment was on response to someone saying he wanted a settlement. |

Okay….
What does this have to do with anything? - roenick97 Try following along which seems to be incredibly difficult for you. He mentioned those players because they are castaways by Torts. It means that Torts knows what he is looking at when it comes to players in his room and he determined years ago that Ryjo was a turd in the punch bowl. Is that clear now?

when the season was over both parties could have declared he was healthy and agreed to a buyout. that never happened, why? - hello it's me 2050
Cause RyJo wants his full contract value and he did not want to go to the minors. Milking an injury gets him that. At minimum the Flyers wanted to send him to the minors to save against the cap for the year. They probably would have entertained a buyout as well.
RyJo was getting what he wanted by getting surgery. The Flyers were not getting what they wanted. The Flyers think they have a case against him.

The only guys I’ve heard on hockey radio and TV openly getting spoken down about are the obvious choices. Like Sean Avery of the past. Pierre-Luc Dubois currently.
Who am I suppose to look to for the bad mouthing of Ryan Johansson? You’re claiming that players are speaking out about him, I haven’t heard a damn thing about him outside of this current situation. - roenick97
Devon Teows went off on a rant but basically said some players think theyre playing well and he thought theyre kidding themselves at this point. Think its safe to say RyJo probably one of those players. He did not play well at all hence why avs dumped him.

How is Coots not adequate? If he plays like 1st half coots for a full season hes a 60 point player. A player like Michkov will also elevate him. Coots will also make up for his defensive mistakes as hes a strong defensive player. Probably allows Michkov to play more his game

C'mon MB. He didn't say he was one of the top shot attempt players in the league. He said he had more shot attempts than just about any player in the league. There were 13 players ahead him and the leader had 174 more shot attempts. His comment was light years from being pretty accurate. It was completely inaccurate. - MJL
I mean I get it. But when you are talking about 800 players and your stats are 11th, 3rd, and 14th, to me that is just about everybody.
One thing it DOES illustrate very clearly is how great Pastrnak actually is. Especially compared to a player like Konecny.

362 points in 533 games for nashville isn't exactly a turd. 50 points in 61 playoff games screams turd. |

so lazy he lasted 7.5 season in nashville. the narrative you push doesn't flaot. |

Again, he was paid to be a point a game player and didn't come close to that during his career. Had he not been a lazy ass he could have been so much more. My narrative is still very much afloat! |

That doesnt disprove his narrative at all. RyJo has been with NSH for 7.5 years because they couldnt move him. Too many years at 8 mill a season to be moved. They were only able to move him with 2 years left on the deal and they had to eat 50%, that is how much NSH wanted to move him
8 Mill for a guy who produced 23-64 points inconsistently with NSH\COL. First 3 years he was a 50-64 point guy, then followed that up with a 36 point season and a 22 point season, had a bit of a bounce back in 21-22 with 63 points then just 28 points in his final season with NSH, 23 points with COL
Doesnt exactly disprove laziness.

Why would you pay a guy to be a point per game guy, if he isn’t one? That’s not on the player. Ask Andrew MacDonald. |

Everything is an IF because we dont know how anything will actually play out. Every negative is an IF as well
If Deslaurier plays
If Frost sucks
If Flyers decide to start trading picks for guys
If the Flyers extend Laughton
Anything you say is also an IF.....

And I said Torts is only a convenient argument when it serves you because many want Torts out of this organization. You’re gonna have to do better.
When you bring me a link offering what you’ve suggested, than we can talk. Otherwise you’re full of it |

Tortorella has made plenty of mistakes with players over the years. He is nothing special when it comes to his player decisions.

That's probably the nicest thing you ever said about him. So, what players did he discard that actually ended up being good players elsewhere? I mean, I'm sure there are a few cause no coach is perfect, but he seems to be able to read the tea leaves when it comes to under driven players that just don't have the competitive edge that he is looking for. Frost will be next on his hit list if he doesn't BRING IT this season. |
