- it is not unlikely at all as neither has an nhl track record of success.
-guess termination is the new buzzword. so you see the ivan giving up 3.5 million to go home to russia?
- where did you see Briere say he is ok missing the playoffs? he has said playoffs is the goal going forward a few months back - hello it's me 2050
He isnt leaving 3.5 mill on the table because KHL would likely pay him the same amount if not more to play there instead. He'd get paid but at least get to play where he wants to. Im not saying hes just going to leave the BHL because he is bad Im saying hes gonna want to leave if Kolosov steals his spot. I guarantee he'd rather be paid to play in the KHL than paid to play in Allentown.
I dont recall where I saw it. It was much earlier in the offseason. Briere was quoted saying the team would be OK if they missed the playoffs one more season

He is injured. Just not as much as he is claiming to be. Briere confirmed the Doctors found an injury. It is something he has and can play through.

well I do not think he would make 3.5 in the KHL let alone more. average salary is under a million per year. top paid get over a million. |

Pronman ranks Flyers 13th.
4. Jett Luchanko, C
August 21, 2006 | 5-foot-11 | 187 pounds | Shoots right
Drafted: No. 13 in 2024
Tier: Middle of the lineup player
Skating: Above NHL average
Puck skills: NHL average
Hockey sense: Above NHL average
Compete: High-end
Shot: Below NHL average
Analysis: Luchanko took significant steps forward this season into a legit NHL prospect. He is one of the better skaters in the 2024 draft class. He has an explosive stride and when he winds up he’ll be able to get plenty of controlled entries in the NHL. He competes very hard at both ends of the ice and attacks the tough areas. He has skill and excels as a playmaker. Luchanko often creates chances for his teammates can do so on the move, in tight and off the edge. His finishing touch could use work as he didn’t convert on a lot of chances this season. As a smaller forward, whether his offense is special enough is a minor question but it lessened for me over the course of the season. He looks like a potential third-line center or second-line winger.
Ranks Minnesota 10th
1. Zeev Buium, D
Dec. 7, 2005 | 6 feet | 186 pounds | Shoots left
Drafted: No. 12 in 2024
Tier: NHL All-Star
Skating: Above NHL average
Puck skills: Above NHL average
Hockey sense: High-end
Compete: NHL average
Analysis: Buium was one of the top-scoring defensemen in college this past season and one of the best draft-eligible defensemen I’ve ever seen at that level. He is an extremely intelligent puck-mover who can run a power play like a top NHL player. He makes high-end plays routinely and can break shifts open with his puckhandling and passes. Buium is a strong skater who can activate off the blue line and create off the rush. He has very good edge work and is proficient at making checkers miss. His defense is good enough at the amateur level, but he isn’t very physically imposing. He is smart and mobile and breaks up enough plays to go with his great offense, making him a major positive at even strength. He has game-breaking potential and looks like a potential star No. 1 defenseman in the NHL who will put up big numbers. |

Oh please, Brink and Deslauries do not impact each other at all. Deslauries is a 4th liner period and will have to beat our Peohling, Cates and Hathaway which will not happen. Brink has to play in the top 9 otherwise he will not make the team and be sent down to the Phantoms.
BTW, I am waiting for your bold predictions! - jd250

The kid has literally not played a single freaking game since being drafted higher than expected 2 months ago. He did not suddenly morph into the second coming of McDavid when the clock struck midnight on his 18th birthday last week.
What has been the overwhelming opinions of the press since the New Era of Orange started?
Everybody loves torts and his tough love. He treats everyone equally.
Danny cares to much about his players so it makes no sense when prospects have issues.
Every draft pick is going on to stardom, every plugger is creating space and the foundation for a Stanley Cup champion.
Comcast is clearly trying to rebrand the Flyers as a successful, and (lol) model franchise, without really changing what they do after the Chuck Fletcher era and are leaning into their core competency, PR. Hell Jonesy hasn't met a microphone or reporter that he doesn't like since this all began. Half the glowing articles are attributed to quotes from him.
Hell Laughton is still the Flyers secret weapon who can't be traded. - Flyers_01

You don't think the following lines are possible?
Tip-Coots-TK
Foerster-Frost-Michkov
Farabee-Poehling-Laughton
ND/AHL 4th Liner guy-Cates-Hathaway
Torts loves Poehling and Laughton. He also seems to have a short leash on Brink. He probably would not play Brink on the 4th line either. - mickel25
He can't do the math and read the tea leaves.

Rankings are meaningless. They dont know anymore of what these guys will become than we do. All these guys do is guess. ANH has so much young talent and they have yet to go anywhere with that. In fact people say ANH screwed up Drysdale's development.
We wont know the answer to which player is better far into the future when we dont even remember these conversations. I dont know about anyone else but I make predictions at the start of every year and by the time the season ends, I cant for the life of me remember what predictions I made.

NHL teams essentially do the same thing. Look at the disparity between the projection of both players. One player is clearly more talented and projects higher. Stop with the nonsense of we won't know the answer. Based on what we know now, the Flyers took the wrong player.

Agreed, Let the kid develop - there should be no rush. |

Wasnt the whole point of him sitting out games and watching from press box to evaluate Shaw for his replacement? - xShoot4WarAmpsx
i don't think he was evaluating shaw. just watching the players and seeing who does what when he's not immediately in their face. yes he was giving shaw the reigns for the experience but I don't believe he was up there to evaluate the coach.

Rocky takes off his shirt and tries to fight the valet during the first road trip

- tk doesn't live up to the contract and gets his 60 some odd points. edit: contract didn't start yet
- flyers finish in bottom 7 in the league.
- seeler regresses badly
- no one on the team takes any huge step forward. many stay static
none are all that bold. - hello it's me 2050 You should be a motivational speaker.
