According to Leafslatest (who?) on the tweeter:
"If the Leafs do agree to terms with Pacioretty, it would be a Standard Player Contract (SPC), not a PTO"
Still think there has got to be better options available. |

Used to be a very good player, pretty much broken right now.
I'd understand a team giving him a PTO or league minimum so it comes with absolutely no risk.... but it's more than likely every team has a 20 year old in their pipeline that deserves a roster spot more. |

People that drive poopfaced should be locked up for life.
What a waste.
Edit : just read the details. Some (frank)ing moron tried to pass vehicles and just ran them the (frank) over on their bicycles. |

yeah, what a massive POS. so sad and avoidable, RIP.
The Gaudreau brothers were home for their sister’s wedding today, and went for a bike ride, and were killed by a drunk driver who tried to overtake two cars

At this point there are at least 4 Marlies I'd rather give the chance to.
Like Nylander or Cowan, Grebenkin, Quillan, Hirvonen, Tverberg, Minten, Kressler, Voit, Abruzzese or Steeves. Basically anyone but Cedric Pare - 'cos (frank) that guy.
Or really just because I actually don't know who he is - looking him up informs me that we signed him because he's 6'4. At 25 he's never played an NHL game and never scored more than 15 in the AHL and has been in at least 4 organizations.

Nick Robertson has a golden opportunity here though it seems like Leafs brass aren't too pleased with how he's playing things out.
Tree being interested in Pacioretty is concerning. Why sign a guy who is damaged goods and hasn't shown an ability to play Top 6 minutes in years?
Brutal. |

800K cap hit, that's why
Patch would not be playing in the top 6 me thinks

Tree's free agent judgement is very questionable so far (even prior to the leafs)
Patch is not the type of player the leafs need, enough with the old guys...bring in some youth.
The leafs seemed to have gotten a fairly old team relatively quickly, I believe they are 7th oldest. (now yes I understand 29.whatever is still young in the grand scheme of things. Im mid to late 40's.) |

Me thinks he shouldnt be in the top 12 at all.
Still better options for close to that price. |

And people wonder why Nick Robertson wants to play for another team. |
