yeah you can say "well done" or "well made" and it would mean the same thing there.
a pain in the ass like myself might joke because well done can also mean cooked a little longer, but you can say either one of those things when you mean someone made something good.

I have the impression that in this particular case it should be "well made" because it's referring to a specific thing, as opposed to a "job well done" or whatever... I could be wrong though.

it's cool.
learning each other's language is part of the fun. like sometimes before i translate a post in french i see if i know any of the words already and i try to pick words that i think i might know what they are going to be. stuff like that.
