good game again for the top4. Reinbacher slowly but surely was better. he'll be good.
can you imagine these 4 in a few years? add Guhle and wifi... that should be fun! |

yeah, those weren't their top prospects in goal either, it is what it is I guess.
the score doesn't matter all that much anyway, personally I'm very satisfied of what I saw from those defensemen.

Richard was an invitee and played in U Sports last year. The other guy is a last minute pick up to replace Miller who just got injured
It would have been fun to see Miller, Volokhin or even Fowler in there (I know it wasn't possible)
Dobes didn't really belong there to be honest |

Yeah, I am fairly confident in our defense doing forward.. may take a year or two for it to all sort out, but it might be one of the best i the league by then.
Now to get rid of those contracts up front and do the same things with the top 9.
And hope Fowler is the real deal. |

and/or hope Primeau/Montembeault continue to progress and become better, as it is a very real possibility despite what you might think

Like I said, they are NHL goalies, but they will never be elite NHL goalies... Primeau has some runway to play with before we really know, but I think Monty has shown what he is.
I just do not see either of these 2 goalies as the ones to be reliable enough take them deep into a playoff run (and maybe, not even into the playoffs themselves).
We will disagree, and that is fine.
But with Demidov, Hague and a few others... the forward grp will progress/grow.
It is the goaltending that is now the concern.

The TEAM needs to play better defense in front of the goalies.
Fair.
But I still do not see them as elite.

... and now the Bucs beat the Lions 20-16 ... I must have pissed the All Mighty somehow.
I was convinced the Lions would win this one in Detroit ...
EDIT 1: And the Saints over the Cowboys 44-19 ... is it a full Moon?
EDIT 2: Vikings over the 49ers 23-17 ... wow. |

They dont need to be if the team is better. Price was elite but the rest of the team was meh |

I guess that also depends on what you think they need in net to be a championship team, I don't think they need to find the next Price or Vasilevsky in order to win.
as for Monty "showing what he is", I kinda disagree since this will be basically the first time in his NHL career that he'll be his team's regular starter, so this year will be very interesting for him in that regard.
but yes, bygones lol. |

you mean... like Minten who was the best baby Leafs (and who was drafted 38th overall)? 12 ranks after Habs picked Mesar |

would be interesting to watch that Habs inside the draft documentory to see which scout was pushing for Mesar... just out of curiosity. |
