When Sanheim is your teams best defenseman it shows you how far away they are from being a serious team. - hfc355
I mean Edmonton got within 1 win of the Cup with Darnell Nurse so It isn't impossible to make it work with a good team. |

Ummm, Darnell Nurse is not Edmonton's best defenseman. Edmonton has two defenseman who are significantly better than Sanheim by a wide margin. Nurse is Edmonton's #3 defenseman. |

Edmonton has certainly tried sell Darnell Nurse as a number 1 defenseman with the contract and letter on his chest but Evan Bouchard is wildly better and Mattias Ekholm was a smart pick up. |

Thanks for the memory of the 76' Canada Cup Bill. The Canada team was more than just an all-star team, it was a Hall of Fame team. Unbelievable talent on the ice all at once! What an era to grow up and watch hockey! |

Not sure how Edmonton will have the money for Bouchard given the contract they just game Draisaitl, with McDavid on deck. Paying Nurse $9M was an absolute joke, but its as I mentioned previously, just because teams throw 1D contracts at players doesn't mean they are. |

Nurse is a good player, but he is not a 1D and should not be paid like one. |

I wonder if they will try Coots, Michkov, Frost, Konecny and Drysdale on the PP.
Both Frost and Michkov can move the puck well and create chances. Konecny can be the onetimer option, Could swap with Tippett as well. Coots in front of the net for screen, tips and rebounds and Drysdale you PPQB - xShoot4WarAmpsx
My 1st PP unit would be Frost, Michkov, TK, Foerster/Tippet, Drysdale. The only thing with Frost is he must improve his faceoffs, but other than that he is the best passer on the team. Drysdale is also a very good passer. I just want shooters on the ice for them to pass to. |

They will find a way as teams pretty much always do.
Nurse is completely overpaid, though he isn't some stiff. Had a not so good playoff. He will have a bounce back year. Plus, with the cap going up as you always like to say it will offset his deal some no? Either way that will be a very hard contract to move, almost unmovable at this time. |

so looking forward to the changes rocky implements. I am sure he had a lot of summer meetings with the flyers employees to get some fresh ideas. Surely sharpe and leclair offered their insight and wealth of knowledge |

https://www.nytimes.com/a...ing-camp-kolosov-michkov/
Pretty much a nonupdate update on Kolosov.
It's his loss if he doesn't report because the Flyers future is bright in goal with or without him. Also, oh yea, look how happy Michkov is here with his entire family flown over and squad of russian teammates/coaches.
At the end though was an interesting RyJo tidbit :
The Flyers are hoping to get further clarification on the situation with Ryan Johansen this week, as the club attempts to void his contract and the $4 million they owe him in 2024-25. Whether Johansen was healthy enough to report to the Phantoms after he was acquired from Colorado on March 6 is at the heart of the disagreement between the sides.
Originally, the Flyers were under the impression that there would be some sort of resolution prior to the start of the season, but they are now less sure of that, and instead believe it’s “going to be a few weeks,” according to a team source.
It doesn't sound like a wedding video from a few months later is going to impact that but also, given that their team doctors confirmed an injury, it makes me wonder what their path to winning this is.

Not so sure the flyers future is bright in goal as there are nothing but huge question marks. no blue chip goalie prospect. Kolosov is screwing himself over by not reporting. not like he has 2 studs in front of him.
I really wonder what happened as I do not buy the homesick angle. If that really is the case, then f em.
RYJO has 60 days to file an appeal. I don't think the flyers can do anything within those 60 days. Though not 100% sure on that. Of course they could reach a settlement I suppose. |

I am confident Nurse could be moved with retention. Not ideal for the Oilers but if they need to move him they should be able to. It is all up to Nurse though. He has a NMC. The next 6-7 years is there window.

The irony is LeClair is one piece they could use on the powerplay. That immoveable object in front of the net.

Well you can't put Coots there, he's one more crosscheck to the back from RyJo/Ellis status. |
