I should have clarified talking hockey. Yes, payment plans though that isn't reducing the total cost as at the end of the day you are still paying full freight. You don't pay by the end of the year or a certain date they will not allow you to play the following season or finish that season.

sports have become such a racket and money-making machine.

- hello it's me 2050

A former coworker had two of his kids playing ice hockey and he would always complain about the cost. That’s with stores like play it again sports around. Otherwise Facebook marketplace might be useful to pick up used gear.
Buying multiple pairs of skates and gear in a calendar year for growing kids is a hit. Then consider ice time and the driving.
Then your kid wants to be a goalie…..ouch.

buying used gear is ok if playing at a lower level. once you move up becomes much trickier. most need pro level equipment. you can find used stuff if your patient for some gear

for a goalie, good lord as you are talking over 5k for new gear for pro level protection. all made in china lol

You said that the fan base ate it up. You then mockingly said look how much they improved! Torts is the savior. I guess you were one of those fans that ate it up until their late season collapse. This is revisionist history on your part.

I'm confused. What does him thinking the Flyers were going to make the playoffs with 10 games left have to do with "eating up" what the Flyers were selling. I also thought they were going to make the playoffs due to simple math. It had nothing to do with what the Flyers were selling or not selling.

High and mighty. He was on the Flyers bandwagon, and then when they went south he jumped off and started laughing at Flyers fans again. Just typical of one that likes to have his nose in the air for some unknown reason. He seems smug, but I have no idea why? He was buying what they were selling, but as soon as the product went bad he pretended that he NEVER bought in. Just a simple matter of logistics really.

Do you know what a player development coach does? I haven't seen many complaints about player development coaches on the Flyers.

Buying in has nothing to do with acknowledging where they were mathematically in the playoff picture, not sure what you don’t understand here

You're making a fool of yourself. It was a simple case of looking at the odds at a point in the season. I haven't been on the Flyers bandwagon since about 2018. You're delusional.

that great what they do, it is bad low-level hockey. One example really doesn't change what was said initially.

Hey!

I played hockey and chess.

You leave chess alone. I still love the game. I’m not playing cash games anymore, but I still often have a set in the car. I play at a bar now and then, or with my kid at a high top over a bite, just like my pop did with me.

- Hesh_

Nice job passing the game of chess along to your kid! It’s a excellent game to keep your mind sharp and get in the mindset of planning and thinking ahead.

Jakub Zboril PTO with the Devils, wouldn't have minded the flyers taking a look to see if shaw would be able to salvage something. Has show some flashes in the past be being a capable dman.

Though no room at the inn to give a look.

It's a place for kids, who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford it, to play hockey. I know how expensive sports can be. My daughter was in competitive dance and it wasn't easy for us to afford. She had some talent in ballet and may have been able to go farther with it if we could have afforded it, but we couldn't. We did what we could. She had fun and was physically active which ultimately, to me, is the point of the whole thing.

On 32TP they said former Flyers trade target Torey Krug had been dealing with his ankle issue for six years.

America has even found a way to make soccer unreasonably expensive for talented kids to excel in. And that's a sport where you just need boots and a ball.

I assume that if there wasn’t a demand for it it wouldn’t exist. I’m sure our Econ prof could explain it to us.
