None of this makes any sense from his point of view. If I were his agent I would be working hard to try to talk some sense in to him. As you said, he has zero leverage.
- MBFlyerfan

I bet his old agent told him to come over and was fired.

Myers issue was not a low hockey IQ. You're welcome.

Gonna die on that hill I see. Let's see, he can skate like the wind for a big guy and has a good shot. He's a big dude that can play a physical game (although he isn't overly physical). He has been given many chances with various organizations cause they see his raw talent, but yet, he just can't make it at the NHL level. Sounds like an IQ problem to me. Yeppers!

Trading a 1st, 2nd and a roster player for Ristolainen, who has never been more than a middling 2nd pair defenseman as a Flyer, and has degraded into a 3rd pair defenseman now that is overpaid and mediocre. Has been a complete and utter disaster of a move for the Flyer. I didn't read your full post because it will just be the same nonsense over and over.
- MJL

So just to be fair, the Flyers traded Robert Hägg, who is not an NHL player, a 2021 first-round pick (Isak Rosen who has played 7 NHL games and has 0 points), and a 2023 second-round pick (Anton Wahlberg -we'll see how he turns out). The real crime was extending Risto once its was clear the Flyers needed to rebuild.

Jamie Drysdale (age 22)
Cam York (age 23)
Igor Zamula (age 24)
Travis Sanheim (age 28)
Nick Seeler (age 31)
Rasmus Ristolainen (age 29)
Erik Johnson (age 36)

What the hell am I reading today? It's absolutely amazing to me how people choose to see and believe only what they choose to see and believe. Now, I agree with anyone who thinks that signing Erik Johnson was unnecessary, that's fine. However, to believe he'll play significant time this coming season and is blocking a young kid, we have no idea. Johnson is exactly 1 year younger than Marc Staal, who signed here at the same age as Johnson one year ago. Staal was told from the start that he wouldn't be blocking any of the kids, he played 35 games and didn't keep Adam Ginning or Ronnie Attard from getting serious looks. So what's the issue here? It's along season. Drysdale, York and Zamula are all are kids and regulars in the line up. So what's the problem? Somehow Risto at 29 years old (and we're not even sure if he's healthy) is gonna keep a kid out of the line up but no mention of signing Seeler at 31 years old as being an issue. The complaining and the made up scenarios are just choosing to believe what you believe and nothing is played out yet. Nobody is getting blocked, at least not by the players that are being named.

He made it to the NHL level just fine. Can you provide any single credible source that called into question Myers hockey IQ before 20-21? Just one is all I'm asking for.

Are you seriously trying to argue the value of what they gave up by looking at what another team selected with the draft picks the Flyers gave up for Ristolainen? Please tell me that's not what you're doing. It was all a crime and myself and many others told you it was a blunder the day it was made. While you were lauding it as one of the moves that put the team on the path to the Cup.

Then why isn’t he in the NHL? What are the reasons? AV called out his hockey sense.

You missed your calling as a politician the way you try and spin doctor things to fit your agenda. What does 20-21 have to do with anything? He has all the physical tools to be an NHL player, but he is lacking the hockey IQ of an NHL player. There really are no complications here.

There is no spin. The only one who has an agenda here is you. You brought Myers up, not me. Only simple knowledge and quite frankly common sense. Which you don't have. 20/21 is when he started to struggle. A player either has hockey sense or he doesn't and it's not hard to see that when a player is pretty young. It wasn't until he struggled that his hockey IQ was called into question. Poor hockey IQ is not something you catch like a cold. So again, I'll ask you. In all the scouting reports, write ups and analysis of Myers as a player. As he was fast tracking to the NHL, from the time he was signed as an undrafted UFA, to his strong AHL seasons and a strong 70+ NHL games including a very solid 50 games of NHL play in 19/20, where were the comments or knocks against Myers as having poor hockey IQ in that time frame before 20/21? Just one credible source that says that about Myers in that time frame, is all I'm asking for.

Again, what's that timeframe have to do with anything? The NHL is the highest level of hockey in the world. It will expose your weaknesses and his main weakness was between his ears. He has AHL level hockey IQ and became exposed at the NHL level in due time. Again, very simple. No complications at all.

Hockey IQ is not exposed over time. He played 180 games at the professional level with nothing but praise for his play. With zero talk about any lack of a hockey IQ. A player with poor hockey IQ will be exposed long before that in that sample of games. It simply didn't exist. You don't catch poor hockey IQ like a virus. You are wrong. I explained to you why that time frame matters. You can't understand it.

That is false as AV questioned his hockey sense several times. Said they has to explain things to him several times.

So why do you think he isn’t in the NHL at this time? You must have an opinion.

So, in other words, you have no answer cause you know you are wrong? AmIrite? Life isn't all about stats. Perhaps one day you will learn this. This is an easy retort. Some players aren't in the NHL cause they don't skate at an NHL level. Some cause they don't have a shot or playmaking ability to be NHLers. Some are just too small physically. And then there are others that simply can't think the game at a high enough level. See how that works?

I gave you an answer that was paragraphs long, what are you talking about. You're again, acting like a child. The discussion was on a relevant player, who is still part of the team in Ristolainen. You for some stupid reason decided to bring up Myers, who has long been gone from the team. I didn't name a single stat in the paragraphs I replied with to you. What are you talking about? You challenged me and lost. Deal with it.

I always know when I win my discussions with you cause you always resort to calling me a child when you got nuthin else. Perhaps we could even ask Bill. I think he brought up Myers' hockey IQ before. Not gonna put words in his mouth cause I may be mistaken. I brought up Myers cause you were demanding that JD250 admit that he was wrong about Risto, so I chimed in with this. Ya know, folks that live in glass houses?

So you say you aren't gonna bother with the comments about Myers and then you bother to comment. Good job! And no, I didn't like his game. I didn't think he was physical enough for a guy his size and he looked lost on the ice at times. I didn't hate his game, but he lacked something for sure.

Again, I didn't have nothing, I responded to your childishness, with a substantial reply.Your the guy who had nothing when I replied with a simple premise and challenged you. You failed. The subject matter was a discussion about current Flyers defenseman and Ristolainen. I humored your childish stupidity. Myers was not and is not relevant to that discussion.

In the 19/20 season, when Myers played a solid 50 games for the Flyers. Out of all Flyers defenseman. Only Robert Haag dished out hits at a higher rate than Myers did.

It's okay to admit that you were wrong. Everyone on here has admitted they were wrong and the world didn't end. It's okay, you can do it. Hell, it actually might make you less uptight to act human like the rest of us instead of acting all high and mighty. That pressure must be immense!

Again, this is where living in the world of stats fails you. Watch the games and learn!! I mean, the stats say that Frost delivered more hits than TK this past season. No one in their right mind would come to that conclusion. There are hits where you just kind of rub a guy out and there are impactful hits. There is a big difference. I didn't think Myers delivered enough IMPACTFUL hits for a guy his size. Thanks!

You're again making a fool of yourself. You can't logically win the debate, so you've now moved onto this nonsense. I'm actually at fault here for even engaging with your stupidity.
