My local baker told me never to put baked goods in the fridge (it started over a conversation about a birthday cake).
Your fridge sucks moisture out - so it dries out your baked goods.
Freezer is the way to go.

I could see how that would be an issue but it’s something that doesn’t get to us because we don’t have much at a time since it’s only the two of us that live here. We find if it’s used within a week fine, and I’m even less fussy when it comes to bread hence the later dates. My gf always seems to pick soups/chili a lot around the same time I’m eating up the bread lol
