There have been some indicators that the Leafs have made overtures for him to come into camp and compete for a job under new bench boss Craig Berube, but Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli is reporting that the belief is Robertson is still more likely to be traded than opening the season with Toronto and that a potential deal is easier when a player is under contract. - mikeinbuffalo

On Max Pacioretty: While #Leafs work through some salary cap issues, there is an expectation from both sides that Pacioretty will be a Maple Leaf this season. |

He wins the cup as a leaf wearing 67.
It was always in the prophecy when he was the captain of the Habs. |

I know, right?
It will be so weird to see him on an MLSE stretcher.
When I close my eyes, I see him on a Habs stretcher. |

I get it’s a big ‘IF’ following the guise of injury he had - but I think Pacioretty is a good sign (as long as cost is reasonable). If the repair job/process was good he is a good at in the top 6 and PP.
You can’t really predict injuries (aside from Robertson and Woll that is…that’s just a given), and I know he stated that maybe he rushed back after the first achilles tear which is very silly. I played with a guy who tried to rush same way got hurt second time - took basically a full season off then came back right as rain….mind you he was 24 at the time and not older like Pacioretty but also not receiving the ‘NHL style’ or level of care. |

But I'm all for Hawktuah. Hope he's ready to go and injury free. Could use his size and defensive ability, need at least one more that isn't an offense first Dman.
Storlarz ail take the #1 spot by November. Book it. |

I agree 100%. Whether that a good thing for Leafs fans or not - he will be ‘the guy’ pretty early this season. |

Here’s him on August 3rd. He’s no leaf or even close if he was willing to wear the stars jersey.

I think it will be a good thing.
Tree was sneaky good this off season, sure he could've done a bit more on the F group, but the D and G improvements are flying under the radar right now.
Looking forward to watching a much different game in the D zone with Berube and Tanev/OEL/Hakanpaa mixed in with Rielly/McCabe/Beniot/Lily/Timmins and then even maybe seeing Webber/Rifai/Topi.
Hope Cowan and Minten stick too, it would round out the offense nicely.
Here's the end of season line up that will win the Cup:
Knies, Matthews, Domi
Nylander, Tavares, Marner
A. Nylander, Minten, Cowan
Lorentz, Kampf, Jarnkrok
Reaves
Rielly, Tanev
Beniot, McCabe
OEL, Hakanpaa
Webber first call for the LS,
Timmins first call for the RS
Storlarz
Woll
I feel Robertson and Lily are traded at some point. If Hakanpaa sticks and Cowan sticks they're both gone for a 3C IMHO but for now I'll keep Minten pencilled in. |

It would be kinda more weird if he was wearing a Leafs jersey IMO.
Not saying he's on the team or a deal is done. I don't even know what is going on just that he was traded for or some poop?!?!
I'll just go with where there's smoke there's a really tall fire.
I like his size and style of play so I hope there is a deal happening there. He would round out the D perfectly.

* - he will need 2 things, 1- make the team and get ab NHL contract.
If Timmins goes on waivers, say goodbye to him as a team will snag him IMO.

Sorry homie, I know you're a big Woll fan.
He was great last year. He's just the Lupul of goalies so I'm glad we got Stolarz. He's a bit better and not oft injured. |

Okay, I'll bite. At this point, they're still working out details on his next contract, and nothing is guaranteed. Do you expect him to go out and buy a Leafs jersey?!?! |
